Heart and Arm, oneness
Love’s superlative power to unite them brought them to a sweet happy harmonious relationship “for love is…” strong to unite, its intense jealousy for his happiness was unrelenting. The flames of her love where from YHWH and many waters couldn’t quench their priceless affection for God and one another.
As a seal is a sign of belonging and full possession so also his full possession of her is due to the unrelenting love in her heart that bound them together. Out of her holy flame of love from YHWH to him, she wants him to put her on his heart and arm in a manner consistent with her belonging to him so that loves power to unite is manifested and loves intense jealousy for his good and happiness is also seen and delighted in.
Her on his heart. What does she want when while on fire she says, “Put me…on your heart“? 1 On his mind 2 as the object of his affections. Love (love unites their hearts) her on his heart united same will, same mind, same love., trust, jealousy, 3 as belonging to him 4 to be there to in a timely manner answer all his calls for her love to him.
She will not leave him, she will not give her affection to another, her loves fire and it’s jealousy for his good and happiness is inflamed and will only increase.
Fully “trusting” so as to not “lack any gain” Prov. 31:11. If he were to trust her to do her part in the relationship for they are one and her and her love completely belong to him, would this manifest the unrelenting power of love to unite hearts and the intense jealousy of a flame of love from YHWH that casts out fear and selfishness?
?seal, think of me as one with you, put me on your heart for what is in the letter is the kings mind and will as they share the same mind and will. Has he made such an impression on her that they are inseparable? Yes. Is this the meaning? (I don’t know) Jer. 22:24.
The arm she is one with is not his physical arm but rather his will or the action of his heart. She is on the same page as his heart and acts as his arm in the relationship.
***He is to have an idea of her in his heart and love to her flowing from his heart. Out of that love to her he trusts her to do his will as an arm does the will of our heart. Have thoughts and feelings about me that are consistent with us being one and acting like it for love is vehement and unrelentingly strong to unite our hearts.
Read it/her as if she came straight from the king, for she is his glory! She came from his side. She is something of him. His arm. He is the head and she is the body.
The LORD is the Origin, love came from God.
This reminds me of Isaiah who was God’s prophet, he was His prophet. He belonged to God to give the people God’s word. “Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8.
2 What does she want him to do with her and for what reason? These two question are of utmost importance due to this verse being the key verse of the whole love song. We can’t just answer the questions we have to know some other things first, like
3 What is the heart? 4 How is it that she could be put on his heart? 5 What is it that she could be put on his arm? 6 What is a seal and what were they used for? 7 In what ways could him putting her on his heart be similar to the manner in which a king would put his seal on something? 8 If he were to put her as a seal upon his heart and arm what would that teach us about love? 9 How is it that she wants him to put her on both his heart and arm? 10 What does it mean to be one? 10b What are the similarities between body (arm) and soul (heart) oneness and heart and arm oneness? 11 Can we see them growing to greater degree’s of oneness in each flash of love from YHWH? 12 It is God’s intent to communicate love to strengthen the bond to perfectness? Heart and arm. Connection.
“So subject is the body to the mind, and so much do its fluids, especially the animal spirits, attend the motions and exercises of the mind, that there can’t be so much as an intense thought, without an effect upon them. Yea, ’tis questionable, whether an embodied soul ever so much as thinks one thought, or has any exercise at all, but that there is some corresponding motion or alteration of motion, in some degree, of the fluids, in some part of the body.” JE
1 What does she want him to do with her?
2Permanently trust her to fully do her part in the relationship because of the superlative characteristics of love and it’s source. Since we are one know that I will do my part in every way to act as one. Since love is strong enough to draw me to you/You, I have completely given myself to you as you grew in my heart to the fullest, now you can trust that I am permanently yours so put me on your heart, then we will act completely as one.
I permanently and exclusively (jealous 8:6) belong to you, both body and soul. My will is not my own and we are on the same page, therefore out of love to you, you can count on me to do your will not my own.
She is filled with joy unspeakable and full of glory for the two are one and she wants him to be assured that she is his and will do her part to keep it that way for love is appetitus union.
Put me on your heart trusting me to do my part as your arm because we belong to each other. “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.”
Put me on your mind and loved from the heart in a manner consistent with the fact that we belong to each other.

The bond would be so close that they would be inseparable. Love would not yield it’s grip on them so as to cause any division or separation for love is unyielding as Sheol.

What the verse is not saying.
I do not believe she is asking him to put an image of her on a necklace and wear it over his physical heart and arm because this action though it is nice and lovely tends to not flow with the reason why she wants him to put her upon his heart. The text says the reason she wants to be upon his heart is because love is strong to unite as death has power to separate and its jealousy is as ardent as Sheol. If he had this kind of love in his heart wouldn’t she ask him to do quite a bit more than put an image of her over his physical heart. To put a necklace with the image of your wife on wouldn’t need a superlative power of love in the heart to do so. She is asking him to do something that requires the strongest power to do and with the most intense and ardent jealousy being felt.
I mean, what would you learn about love if a husband put an image of his wife close to his heart on a necklace? You would not get the idea that their love was strong as death and their jealousy as intense as the fire of hell! Song 8:6. We have to the idea that a power above human ability is needed to do what she is asking. An action above human ability requires a flame of love above all others that comes from YHWH and has power to cast out fear and selfishness.
Imagine a couple being one like the head and body are one or like the soul and body are one. Both having so strict and close a union that the arm immediately and without fail obeys the heart of the soul always! The immaterial heart and physical arm are one. Husband and wife are positionally one and grow in practical oneness as she is more and more upon his heart.
For her to upon upon his heart in every way because they belong to each other requires self-denial at it’s greatest. Therefore requiring an unquenchable, priceless flame of love from God who is love to dwell in the hearts of both of them!
2 What does she want him to do with her and for what reason?
“for love is…” “for” “because” or “since”. It is because of what love is that she is able to ask him to count on her as being one with him. She could remain in him and him in her due to the superlative power of love to bind their heats together as one. She had and could give herself completely to him because her love was strong to unite and her jealousy for his happiness was intense. Neither spouse had a weak love or jealousy.
Since love’s unquenchable and priceless flashes are from YHWH and have power to bond hearts then consider me fully yours as a letter that has the kings seal on it is his.
Because we are one and functioning as one, fully belonging to each other, inseparable like a kings seal on a letter, and are bond by the superlative power of love then set me as a seal of ownership on your heart and arm.
Love is the bond or connecting power that the two have in them that brought them to perfectness. Col. 3:14 with Song 8:6-7 along with the whole Song of Songs.
Because love tends to holy practice in life for “love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth” 1 Cor. 13:6,
If she was on his heart and arm like a seal then what would be the outcome in reality in life? She would express her love to him by doing what pleased him in every way for they share the same heart, mind, will, faith, love and God. She can sweetly sense their strict union when she ask him to keep her on his heart.
Due to loves’ strength to draw them together as one, like soul and body or head and body are one, she wants to stay there on his/His heart and arm:
always ( perfectly happy letting him have full possession of her as a king owns the letter he put his seal upon) 8:6, willingly and freely (love is free, benevolent and priceless) 8:7 and Hosea 14:4 , intensely (like the fire of hell), fully (like a seal proves full or complete ownership) 8:6, as the feeling feels like a fire from YHWH 8:6, to greater and greater degree’s forever (for love is unquenchable 8:7 and we ought not to put limits on it’s degree’s Song 5:1), without any fear of harm (1 John 4:18) (wow, just imagine a woman fully trusting her husband as she gives herself completely to him without fearing any harm),suffering long ( 1 Cor. 13:4), with a disposition in her heart to do good and be kind (13:4), without being sinfully jealous of another man 13:4, humbly (for love is not proud), selflessly (for love is not selfish 1 Cor. 13:5) , without bitterness or anger 13:5, without a disposition to think evil of his state, qualities or actions 13:5, in a spirit of hating evil and desiring to promote good (1 Cor. 13:6), bearing all things for his sake ( 1 Cor. 13:7), believing God and all His promises 13:7 with expectant faith or hope 13:7 , without fail ( 1 Cor. 13:8), with joy unspeakable and full of glory (Gal. 5:22), with peace of mind and heart (Gal. 5:22), with patience, kindness, gentleness and self-control for love is the one fruit of the spirit (singular fruit not fruits plural). love is one flame bursting fourth in many ways depending on the situation. All of them put the beauty and moral excellency of God on display for all to see and delight in and be transformed from one level of love to another, thus love is highly valued and praised more than wine!! Song 1:4
One way of the exercise of love is that it thinks no evil.
3 What is the heart?
The heart here could be either physical or a faculty of the soul.
Most everyone knows what a physical heart is and those who interpret this verse to mean her physical heart take her to be asking him to put her image on a necklace and hang it over his physical heart. I think this understanding of the verse is due to a lack of a clearer understanding of what the immaterial heart is, it’s relationship to the body and arm (that they are one, inseparable only by death) and the reason she is able to make such a request.
The immaterial heart. What is it? It is a faculty of the soul Deuteronomy 4:9 . You can’t see it but you can sense it exercises, especially the livelier ones.
The heart is the seat of emotions that are not alone but come with thoughts in the mind of the beloved/Beloved. In Song 1:2-3 when Naamah falls in love with the newly anointed king Solomon at his first anointing she senses “gladness” in her heart better than wine along with the pleasure of hearing his “name“. The flash of love from YHWH lit up his name in her mind and gave her a lively sense of pleasure much like smelling holy anointing oils on a Messiah.
***When love vigorously “flashes” then thoughts of the beloved/Beloved come to mind Song 5:9-16, Song 1:2-3, She wants him to put her on his heart. He can’t put her on his heart considering them to be one and belonging to each other in love unless love is inflamed in his heart toward her, otherwise he would care less about her.
The heart is where the exercise of love is. The location of our soul where love is understood and felt, communicated to us by YHWH 2 Peter 1:4, and where the soul relishes God and is inclined to choose Him as it’s chief good.
Emotions are felt in the heart.
Deuteronomy 19:6 ” “when his heart is angry”. Where gladness is felt. Exodus 4:14, Deuteronomy 28:47 “Because you did not serve Yahweh your God with gladness and a merry heart…” or the heart is what feels Psalm 17:10 “They have closed their unfeeling heart“Psalm 104:15 “And wine which makes man’s heart glad”. Psalm 119:111 “I have inherited Your testimonies forever, For they are the joy of my heart.”
The heart needs to be enlarged in order to love God and obey his commandments. Psalm 119:32 “I shall run the way of Your commandments, For You will enlarge my heart.”
We think or talk to ourself in our heart. Genesis 17:17, Genesis 27:41.
The heart is the seat of our integrity or wickedness. Genesis 20:5.1 Samuel 17:28
Our outward actions and words follow what is in our hearts. 2 Samuel 7:3,21.
An evil non believing heart can be “hardened” Exodus 7:13
The heart is the seat of the will or willingness. Exodus 25:2.
The heart can be circumcised or not. Deuteronomy 10:16
The heart is the seat of our desires. Deuteronomy 14:26 “And you may spend the money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep or wine or strong drink or whatever your heart desires
Deuteronomy 11:18 “You shall therefore place these words of mine on your heart and on your soul; and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand
Deuteronomy 8:5 you shall know in your heart
The heart is the seat of our thought and intentions, “Then Yahweh saw that the evil of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” Genesis 6:5.

The heart is our “inmost being.” “I, Yahweh, search the heart; I test the inmost being,” Jeremiah 17:10.
“I will give them a heart to know Me, for I am Yahweh; and they will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with their whole heart” .Jeremiah 24:7
inclinations Joshua 24:23 “So now, put away the foreign gods which are in your midst, and incline your hearts to Yahweh
Judges 16:15 Then she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? You have deceived me these three times and have not told me where your great strength is.” Naamahs’ heart was with Solomon for she told him every intimate thought and emotion so that he could write the Song of Songs, Song 7:12-13. Being heart to heart means not holding back key information but sharing your heart with the one you love, no lying.

They share the same mind. So that when she fervently asks him to put her on his heart she is not only asking him to put her on his mind but to also love her sincerely from the heart. She says to put her on his mind for he is in her heart then she will be in his heart. There is a mutual indwelling going on. He is in her heart and she is in his due to the superlative characteristics of love. Love is the bond that perfected their oneness of mind. Having the same mind. If you were to look at his mind or thoughts of the beloved/Beloved, you would see that his idea of her in his mind and his idea of himself and his idea of God are the same with hers. She knows him/Him so well that her idea of herself and her idea of him in her mind are the same . She has the mind of Christ Solomon.
The will is another faculty of the heart. So also when she asks him to put her on his heart in a way that he could fully trust that she belongs to him as a kings letter fully belongs to him that is sealed, she is saying she has no will of her own but that his will is hers for she belongs to him. They have the same will.
They have the same motives. Our motives come from our heart. To be heart to heart is to have the same motives.
He fully understood what it felt like for her to fall in love with him otherwise Solomon would not have ever been able to write the Song of Songs from her perspective! She shared her whole heart with him Song 7:12-13 along with the whole poem being written by Solomon in the first person from her perspective.
Her life and doings are an outward manifestation of the union of their hearts as what we do is in our hearts, Deuteronomy 30:14 “But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.”
Love. Inclination. heart. 1 Kings 8:58 that He may incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments,
***Divided or undivided heart. 1 Chron. 12:33,17 and “one heart” 1 Chronicles 12:38. 2 Chronicles 30:12 “The hand of God was also on Judah to give them one heart“Ezekiel 11:19 “And I will give them one heart and give within them a new spirit. Acts 4:32 “And the congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and not one was saying that any of his possessions was his own”
Her being on his heart would not just be mental but emotional. The idea of the heart includes the mind and will or mind and emotions or thoughts and desires.
What would be the effect of him having her permanently engraved on his mind and love by his heart?
4 How is it that she could be set on his heart?
An easy way of understanding the verse is to first know that she wants him to put her on his heart. What does it mean for him to put her on his heart?
Think of me. In your mind, think of me. The mind being the faculty of the soul where knowledge is.
“Set” carries the idea of always being there, therefore we get “permanently think of me”.
“heart” Since she asks him to set her on his “heart”. This includes some emotional response on his part. The heart being the faculty of the soul that is the seat of the emotions, will and desires. So not only does she want him to permanently think of her but as he does to love her, be inclined to choose her as his own and desire her. To love her with his whole heart not just have her on his mind.
She wants the opposite of what Israel did with YHWH. “Then the Lord said, “Because this people draw near with their mouth And honor Me with their lips, But they remove their hearts far from Me” Isaiah 29:13 . And the leaders of Israel did not put God upon their heart for he says to them that they did “not remember Me, Nor even put Me upon your heart” Is. 57:11.
As a mark that you own me and I freely belong to you.
She wants to be completely intertwined with his sense of himself for he is the head and she is the body and her on his heart and arm.
To be marked or inscribed upon the heart points to a deep experiential knowledge and mutual belonging. Jer. 31:33-34
***With him in her mental and emotional heart as love is inflamed, she wants him to reciprocate her feelings towards him by him putting her in him, in and upon his mental and emotional heart for the essence of oneness consists in a mutual indwelling of lover and beloved.
5 What is it that she could be put on his arm?
Her eye is on the outward manifestation of her love to him. Love in action. United to heart and arm then she acts his will out of love then love is made complete.
Not a body but an arm. She is his body in one sense, yes, the two are one postionally. But now they are acting as one and abiding in love. Nothing can separate them and many waters can’t quench the fire of love in their hearts that came from the covenant keeping God, the LORD.
As one with him in heart she is also one with him in body. Him the head and her the body acting as one. Him the wise loving head and her the loving body. Yet, as queen in Israel married to a king of peace she had a role to play. That role is highly important and all eyes are on him and her. King of peace married to united in love to someone who on the outside seems to be our enemy and an outcast who doesn’t belong in God’s kingdom. She would be not his body as it relates to all the people of Israel. If he is the head she is more like his arm. Her role is not that of a whole body, each part doing it’s role, she is a part in the kingdom of God. She is on his heart and is his arm, he can count on that in 8:6 when their union had grown closer and closer to the point of them having a completely harmonious relationship in love as his arm.

Love being made complete in love to other’s is more important then doing nothing and waiting for a sensation of love. Christ on the cross felt not love from God in the sense of a good feeling in His body on the cross, but rather felt God’s wrath to the fullest. In sensing God’s wrath to the fullest, bearing the full weight of all the sins of His Bride. In one act, the greatest love to God and man is manifested. Love is made complete. Christ Jesus didn’t want to sense the full wrath of God, but still wanted the salvation of His Bride. Maybe there was some other way He could save her, but there was no other way. To complete His mission of love to God and sinners he had suffer an immeasurable amount of pain on her behalf for her sins. All the while His mind so caught up on the infinite cup of God’s wrath He was drinking and the sense of God forsaking him in her stead that for 3 hours of utter darkness he had no sweet sense of God’s love to him/Him. My point here is that as an example, we have Jesus Christ with the ultimate display of love being more important than tasting a love that is better than wine or life itself. He rather tasted death to its fullest and God’s wrath the the nth degree. I say this because all to often we want to as it were taste the love of God and feel like we are in heaven more than manifest a complete love in our life. Which amounts to suffering for them, sacrificing time for them, showing love even when we don’t have good bodily sensations, loving them even if we don’t feel like it but because it is good in and of itself. Knowing the good we ought to do and doing it love is perfected and complete. 1 John 4:12
The arm or her upon it would be the outward manifestation of what is in his heart. She is in his heart and all she thinks says and does is consistent with who she is in relation to him and love.
The analogy stays the same but the relation changes. There is a way that she is upon his immaterial heart that is different than she could be upon his physical arm.
?As the kings will and word in a letter are considered one and the same so also consider me on your heart as one and the same with you and me on your arm as one and the same with your arm?

“As I live,” declares Yahweh, “even though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were a signet ring on My right hand, yet I would pull you off.
“Jealousy” is here another term for “love,” expressing the inexorable force and ardor of this affection, which can neither yield nor share possession of its object. Barnes.
The heart and arm are one as the head and body are one as Solomon and Naamah were at the end of their marriage, as Jesus and the Father are one, as Jesus Christ and His Bride are one.
His arm and it’s actions are a manifestation of what is in his heart. With her upon his heart and arm, this makes her actions the outward manifestation of his heart which she is one with.
Her on his heart as the object of his affection and on his arm as the one who does his will. She is the outward action of his heart.
Her intense jealousy for her to do her part.
Her in her outward actions wants to prove that she belongs to him as a seal proves what the king owns.
The arm was the symbol of physical strength that did the will of the heart.
***The arm is the outward reflection of the heart that it is one with. With her on his heart her actions will reflect his heart. “As in water face reflects face, So the heart of man reflects man.” Proverbs 27:19.
He is the head and she is the body. Did his arm open the door for she belongs to him and is one with his arm? No, she did not open the door when he called for she was not acting as one Song 5:2-4.
“The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain.”Proverbs 31:11. He has his role as head and she has her role as the body in the relationship. Her husband trusts her to do her part so that “he will have no lack of gain.” for she is his excellent wife.
Although she loves him and seeks his welfare, yet she had rather be humbled so low, deny herself so greatly, and suffer so much, than that his welfare should be in the least diminished, his authority weakened, and his honor and his dignity degraded as Messiah, God’s representative on earth.
9:29 Deuteronomy 11:2 His outstretched arm
The father is the head of the trinity and the Son is the body. The arm can’t move, act or do by itself but does what the heart has decided. So also Jesus and the Father are one. The Son can do nothing of Himself. John 5:19 “Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing from Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in the same manner.”
To be trusted to do the part of the arm that is one with their hearts which are united and the same.

If both love and do their part then the union will become stricter and the relationship happier.

The idea or thought is the same in both situations. Him putting her on his heart and him putting a seal on something. Both are done in the same manner.
“like a seal”
“like a seal” or “as a seal” She is making an analogy here. She wants him to set her on his heart in the same manner of speaking that a king would set his seal upon a letter. Does the similarity fit the context? How lively is the similarity?

1 Freely and uncoersed. Love is benevolent. The action of putting her on his heart and arm is done selflessly and free for love is unconditional, priceless and benevolent. She is not bribing or forcing him to put her on his heart and arm nor does anyone force a king to put his seal upon a letter.
2 With the authority and right you have as king and head of the relationship. No other person has the right or authority to put her on his heart and arm. She says this to her husband who is one with her and can trust that she will act like it in their marriage.
Authority. She is the queen and he is the king. So is asking him to set her upon his heart with his authority or right? He is the one choosing to put her in his mind. She can’t tell the king what to do. He is sovereign. Job 9:7, Esther 3:12
Does she want him to put his seal upon the union of their hearts, thus declaring them as one?
3 With the idea that she fully belongs to him. Ownership. “I am his and he is mine.” Full ownership. Love made complete when they “love each other”(1 John ) to the uttermost.
4 With the idea of permanence, unchanging, inseparable (Job 12:18, . She will not one day want to be heart to heart bond by love then the next be separated and hate him. No changing her heart. If a seal had been broken the the contents of a letter may have been changed and thus not trusted. Therefore the idea of trust is also alluded to in the “seal” analogy.
The most common reason a king would set his seal upon a letter was 1 So that everyone knew who the letter came from or who owned it. The idea of ownership. 2 So that all knew who’s authority it was written in. 3 So that they would know if it was tampered with
The idea of being inseparable is born out of the fact that she was chosen. Hag. 2:23.
6 Knowing that his mind and will is the same with the contents of the letter. Approval. So also he can know that his mind and will is the same with hers therefore they are truly one. (Is she asking this in his/His name?)
(If she was the seal set upon his heart then his heart would imprint his heart upon her thus she would reflect his heart bearing his image)
let me always have a place in thine heart; let me have an impression of love upon thine heart.
7 In your name. Meaning because of who he is and their relationship to each other and the superlative characteristics of the love they share keep me upon your heart trusting me to do your will. Esther 8:8,10.
8 Don’t tamper with or change what belongs to the king. Daniel 6:17. Protection. Putting his seal upon it for the purpose of protection. The role of the husband is to protect. Love has brought him to freely choose to permanently protect and provide for her. Him having her upon his heart would give her assurance of his protection.
Doing so would manifest the strictness of their union. Both having the same heart, mind, will, faith, love and God. The two are one because he was in her and now she asks for him to keep her permanently in him by the power of love to unite and with an intense jealousy for their good an happiness.
“As a seal” set me on your heart because you have chosen me. The idea of seal carrying the notion of being “chosen” Haggai 2:23.
He is to be know by who is set upon his heart for he is one with her. So that our idea of Solomon is not Solomon alone but Solomon and Naamah for they are fully and inseparably united. She is his glory. Jesus also doesn’t identify Himself apart from His children/spouse Heb. 2:13 “Behold, I and the children whom God has given Me.”
Her being upon his heart and arm proves their love and displays a love as strong as death along with an intense mutual unyielding holy jealousy that came from YHWH.
“she desires to have a fixed abiding place in his heart; to continue firmly in his love, and to have further manifestations of it; to be always remembered and supported by him; to be ever on his mind, and constantly under his care and protection; and to have a full assurance of interest in his love, and in his power,” Gill.
She intensely desires to be joined to him in perpetual love. For a signet ring would not be removed Jer. 22:24. What God has joined may no man separate Mark 10:9.
8 If he were to put her permanently, in his name, (as a seal) upon his heart and arm what would that teach us about love?
9 How is it that she wants him to put her on both his heart and arm?
The heart and arm are one. Her and her husband are one. They belong to each other. He is in her heart and she is in his heart. Love is the bond that perfects their union. They both have different roles for he is the head and she is the body. He is the head and she is to love and obey the head like his arm obey his heart for the two are one. The heart and head will it and the arm and body obey for the arm has no will of its own but does the will of the head or heart.
Doctrine. Love unites lovers to the point where they are permanently on each others heart.
Some think that she is asking him to put her on his heart the same way kings would put the image of their beloved on a necklace and hang the image close to their heart. And also put the same image on his arm.
Love has power to unite hearts as death has power to separate body and soul.
If she is the one on his heart and ownership is the idea behind the analogy then she would be saying as a king owns something so he puts his seal upon it, since she is the one being put on him then she would be being put on his heart due to her owning him because he has freely given himself completely to her out of love. Since he/He is hers this rouses her love to him as she wants to be as a seal, permanently upon his heart and arm for she is his, she is and will actively do his heart and will.

Understanding. Therefore speaking the same language helps. Communication. Agreement. Genesis 11:6,1. “And Yahweh said, “Behold, they are one people, and they all have the same language.”
Being on the same page. God was on the same page with Himself as to what he wanted Pharaoh to do even the the dreams were different, the interpretation of both were “one and the same.” Gen. 41:25.
No divisions. 1 Corinthians 12:24-26 “whereas our more presentable members have no such need. But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked, 25 so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.”

10b What are the similarities between body (arm) and soul (heart) oneness and heart and arm oneness? 1 Both are considered one. 2 Both started apart and were brought together. 3 Both have different roles. One the leader or head and the other the follower or body. 4 The body and the excellent wife obey/love the heart and husband respectively without delay (the response time is quick). 5 Both can be separated by the effects of sin. A strong and intense sense of being one with you beloved/Beloved naturally rouses love. No one loves evil happening to his body for they naturally love and desire their own happiness.
9 How is it that she wants him to put her on both his heart and arm?
It is very interesting to note that she uses the analogy of the seal in both placements. In her being placed on his heart and her being placed, set or put on his arm.
The two are one. The heart and arm are one similar to how a husband and wife are one. The head and body are one. The soul and body are one. The faculties of the heart and soul are the mind, will, emotions, desires, understanding etc. Since the two are one.
The heart and arm are one bond to work together in sweet harmony. So also are they one bond to work together in sweet harmony by love, the bond of perfectness.
This verse confirms that not only are they positionally one in their marriage union but they are practically one in every way.
What does it mean to be one?
1 Those who have the same mind and will are one.
1 Corinthians 1:10
“I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree together, so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be united in mind and conviction.”
” Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” Amos 3:3.
Philippians 2:2
“then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being united in spirit and purpose.”
John 10:30, 38
“I and the Father are one.“
2 Those who mutually dwell within each other are one.
20 “I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; 21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; 23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.” John 17:20-23.
In a similar fashion the fully matured wife is letting her husband know that he is fully in her and she wants him to know it by with a great intense jealousy to be one with him, so she asks him to permanently keep her in him/Him by setting her as a seal upon his heart and a seal upon his arm.
3. Selflessness is a key component to being one.
Acts 4:32
The congregation of believers was one in heart and soul. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they owned.

He can only love her as much as he properly loves himself for she is a member of his own body. He is the head which is fully united to and one with the body. Eph. 5:25ff

His holy image in her proves she fully belongs to him. A holy image is a beautiful image because in every act of pure love the holiness of God is seen and if a pure and true love is communicated to the soul that see’s God there is also a sensible delight in Him that promotes holiness or hatred of evil, disunion or separation of beloved and spouse.

Nothing could separate her from the love of God that was in Christ Solomon.
Her being a Gentile and him a Jew couldn’t stop the love of God from uniting them and making them practically one in every way.
Even though she initially had the disapproval of the daughters of Jerusalem, she earned their favor by telling her sincere and humble testimony of a changed heart. So the daughters of Jerusalem couldn’t keep her from the love of God in Solomon.
Foxes, thorns, lions, and many waters couldn’t stop the love of God from flowing to her through Christ Solomon.
Intense love satisfied. She intensely wanted him to draw her closer to him and now in 8:6 she is one with him/Him.
” love of God makes duty easy and pleasant is because, by obeying God’s commands, they do what is well-pleasing to him they love. All the pleasure of love consists in pleasing the person beloved. ‘Tis the nature of love to rouse and stir to an earnest desire to please, and certainly it must be a great pleasure to have earnest desires satisfied. Now the love of God causes those in whose heart it is implanted more earnestly to desire to please God than anything in the world, causes them heartily to embrace opportunities of pleasing him and sweetly to reflect on it when he knows they have pleased him.” JE
Love united their minds making them have the same mind, love united their wills so that she had no selfish will of her own for she belongs to him, they both shared the same love, faith and hope.
Immediate, progressive and trained oneness.
Immediate oneness. This is a single flash of love in the heart of both where they are immediately on the same page, agreed and sweetly walking together for the moment. When love flames up in the heart there are clear thoughts of the beloved/Beloved. When love fires in the heart of both lovers they are of the same mind and will immediately.
Progressive oneness. This is where you have had one or more flashes of love in the past and the degree or strictness of the union of heart is growing. From one level to another. Where more and more foxes are being caught that may ruin the blossoming relationship. Where many trials keep making the bond stronger and stronger.
Trained oneness. They have grown in their knowledge of God and each other and are acting as one. They have reconciled differences. Both have not only intellectually learned their role or place in the relationship but are willingly doing their part. Each flash of love has brought about a stricter and stricter union of hearts to the point where they are for all intents and purposes one. Not only positionally one but acting as one in so many respects that you could say that nothing could separate them.
In consequence of their close union with, and dependence on each other,

“If it be inquired, what degree or manner of union may be looked upon thus complete: — I answer, When the patron’s heart is so united to the client that when the client is to be destroyed, he, from love, is willing to take his destruction on himself, or what is equivalent thereto, so that the client may escape, then he may be properly accepted as perfectly one with regard to the interest of the client, for this reason: that his love to the client in all that concerns his interest, even so as to absorb or swallow up his whole interest. Saved in 2000 at age 27. Nearly immediately I fell in love with the Song and grew very fast the first two years memorizing large portions of scripture purifying my mind the started chewing on meat to soon and struggled for 12 years and Christ has me on track like always but I just took the long way around and now I love leading others closer to Christ by seeing His love reflected in Solomons love for an enemy slave girl.
I have experienced God's love to me in the Song in ways that words can't express. There are many portion of the Word where she experiences extra ordinary outpouring of the Holy Spirit of God. If you have a burning desire for a close intimate relationship with God by experiencing His Love to you over and over again at greater and greater heights, depths, lengths and breaths then The Song of Songs is where you need to be.
I can help you with this process of Growing in the experience of God's love. As of 7-23-16 I have experienced everything prior to chapter 8. The Song of Song is progressive in experience. Meaning that if you are mature then you can experience the joys and extraordinary outpourings of God's Love shed abroad in your heart.
If you are not so mature then the delights in the first chapter of the Song will satisfy your thirst for experiencing the Love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Many Christian are living in sin because they do not know how to experience God's love and get hooked on Loving Him. It feels good to be loved and to love Him. His burden is not heavy and His yoke is light, Jesus said in Matt. 10:28
I believe God wants to use me to help beautify His Bride through the Song of Solomon.
If you see the book literally you will not understand nor grasp the Love God has for you. If you see the book and the verses in it relating to Christ's love to you then I would love to show you how to experience this Love to the fullest. I will pray for you daily and guide you every step of the way.
16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

I grew up going to church but was a hypocrite. I lived my life how I chose but went to church on Sunday because my family went.
Mom and Dad divorced when I was about 5.
About this time I was sexually abused by "Bob" a made up name. This incident changed my life for the worst. I had no clue how to deal with it.
As I got older I grew in my hatred for Bob. I didn't blame anyone of my family because I was to young to know any better. Some of what happened during the abuse was in a bathroom. So overtime I would use the bathroom and look at my private parts that night would replay in my mind. My hatred for Bob would continue to grow each time.
Now I know this only happened to me one night. I can't image the pain other's go through who have had this happen to them over and over. Even as I write this now I cry with many tears for those hurting. God love you even though you may not know it or feel it. Go to Him in your time of need.
I was a really bad teenager. I only cared about myself and not even my family. I always came first in my mind. Even at the expense of hurting others. I was growing in my hatred for God by now.
I was going to church and was learned that God was in control. I thought well, if God was in control then He must have let me be sexually abused. I didn't understand this, How could a good and loving God allow this. I hated Him for it. My hatred for Bob grew as well. I was still using the bathroom and memories kept coming back. My heart grew even harder for Bob and God. As far as I was concerned God would have nothing to do with my life so I lived even worse. I thought I would be in jail or dead and I really didn't care, I thought it could be much worse than reliving your painful past over and over again. Little did I know that God's plan later would be to use these events to give me a burning passion for the closest most intimate love relationship with Himself through Christ mainly through the love poem in the Song of Songs in the Bible.
I remember hating Bob so much that the only thing that would relieve my pain was actually thinking he would suffer forever for what he did. I grew so much in my hatred for him that I had to continue to think that he would get even worse than what I imaged before. After some time I would only be relieved of hatred for him unless I thought he would burn in a hotter and hotter hell for all the suffering he put me through.
I never told my mom or family what happened, although I think some of them knew something had happened.
I grew up quite rebellious and even went to jail at the age of 20. I was living the fast life pursuing all my sinful desires and wanting more. It never seemed to be enough. I was quite happy in my sin but I just wanted more of it.
I lived life thinking I would die at a young age, riding motorcycle and living on the edge put me in the hospital many times and I should have been dead.
California at age 26.
I moved to California for a job opportunity at the age of 27. While trying to figure out what radio stations to program in my car, I ran across a RC Sproul talking about "people who have the faith that saves and people who only say that have faith" only the people who have the faith that saves will go to heaven. I thought "I don't think I have the faith that saves because my life was so bad." I searched the scriptures to try to get this faith. I found a church and thought people there could help me get this faith that saves. All along God kept showing me how sinful I was and that I deserved punishment from Him for living my life hating Him.
One weekend I read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John desperately trying to find out how to get this faith that saves. By now I knew that if you had the faith that saves that Jesus would be saving you from a life of sin. I still liked my sin and Jesus sure wasn't saving me from a life of sin, so I rightly concluded that I didn't have the faith that saves.
By the time I got to John, I saw "believe" everywhere. John 3:16 and other verses and wow the whole book was written so that you may believe. John 20:31 "these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." So at night I would pray "I believe Jesus died for me, I believe, I believe. This was just an intellectual belief. I knew that in history and the Bible that Jesus died for everyone, so I believed it. But this belief did not change my life.
I would go on night after night saying the same prayer only to wake up the next day wanting to fulfill my sinful desires. The prayer wasn't working so I started to word it different each time hoping some prayer would work. After about 2 weeks of this I was fed up with it all, nothing was happening. I still was living in my sin and wanted more of it. A Christian hates their sin and does something about it, and certainly they don't continue to make plans to sin. The prayers weren't working so I gave up. I thought to myself "God, I tried with all my might, I searched the Scriptures, went to church, read the Bible and prayed all to no avail. If Im going to be saved your going to have to do it because I tried."
So I quit praying but still the Bible kept calling me so I read more. 3 Days later I was laying in a tanning bed and God convicted me really hard that I had offended Him by the life I was living. I was so scared of God, where could I run. You can't hide from God. It seemed like forever that I was under these terrors of being punished by a Holy Angry God. This lasted about 10 minutes then this is how I understood it. God let me understand that all that anger that He had for me for all my sin should come my way but He had poured that anger out on Jesus 2,000 years ago. I immediately started weeping an couldn't stop for about 20 minutes. All the sins that I could think of I confessed for that 20 minutes one after another after another, I was so sorrowful and grieved it physically hurt inside.
After I stopped crying I thought that was the weirdest thing that ever happened. I walked out of the tanning salon and stood outside and everything seemed so beautiful, the tree's, the birds, even the air seemed pleasant. Now I was really wondering what was going on.
I pondered all of this as I drove to work that day. I brought my Bible to work and was thinking what am I doing, I want to take my Bible to work so I can read it. As soon as I got to work I started reading my Bible. I couldn't believe what I was reading!! It all was so wonderful. It felt so good to just read my Bible. My client showed up and as I was training them the only thing I could think about was getting back to my Bible. I read all night and slept about 2 hours and was reading again.
I had sinful things in my apartment and I rounded everything evil up and threw it in the garbage. It was weird I was thinking but it felt good so I left it all in the garbage. I called my girlfriend to break it up and she thought I had another girl, I said no, I just think this is wrong we shouldn't be sleeping together. She didn't understand so I told her I was a Christian now and she still thought I had another girlfriend. She said "Im glad your a Christian, so am I" I thought to myself, "I have a strong conviction that sleeping together is wrong and she thought it was okay" I wondered how she could think that. Anyway we broke up.
I kept reading my bible and repenting, there was so much to repent of and I had lived a very sinful life. I was a thief for some part of my life and all the people I stole from kept coming to mind. I owed so much money. I was instantly in debt about $80,000. As I could I paid them back. As of 7-18-2016 I still owe about $25,000 but it sure is a joy to be paying them back.
The first week of being saved a car just about ran me over, they hit me but I wasn't hurt at all. The guy in the car felt so bad. I just looked at him and said "God bless you and have a great day, I am okay" smiled at him and moved on. Now I was really wondering what was going on because I normally would have cussed him out left and right and instead of cussing I blessed him. That was so weird. But again it felt good. I learned to do good by what my conscience told me was good and that it felt good. I got hooked on this feeling good by doing good and did it more often.
About two weeks after being saved I thought of Bob. I immediately prayed for him, something like "Lord help him.." then I stopped praying and said out loud "What am I doing?" I'm praying for a man that I hated my whole life, but it feels good and right, so I did it again. I stopped again midway in the prayer and started pacing around. I was trying to make sense of what was going on and couldn't figure it out. But again it made me happy to pray for him so I did. Bob would often come to mind when I went to the bathroom and each time I would pray for Him. The more I did this the less weird it got. And the greater my love grew for him.
I started memorizing large portions of scripture and this was wonderful because it felt like the words were cleaning my mind and as Proverbs 2:10 "For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul." I wanted more and more of this pleasantness. So I memorized even more and the joy got more and more.
Then this life changing advice came:
A friend from church told me to find a book of the Bible and really understand it. Read through the Bible and pick one and read it over and over and study it and really get it. So I started in Genesis and read through. When I got to Proverbs I really liked it so I thought that would be the book. I started by memorizing all of Proverbs chapter 3. After that I thought maybe there is a better book than Proverbs. So I read on. Then I came to Song of Solomon. I read it with quite some confusion. It wasn't as good as the other books, I didn't know why. So I bought a commentary on it. George Burrowes commentary on the Song of Solomon.
In the commentary I found that George and other saw the book as illustrating God's love to the Church. And not only illustrating it but displaying the Love of Christ better than any other book. This caught my attention big time, because I was having a burning desire for a closer relationship with God and desperately learning about His Love so that I could Love God. You see I had hated Him for so long that God used that old hard heart to spur me on in loving Him. I so much did not want to hate God anymore that I was on fire to learn to Love Him as much and as fast as possible. So here was a book that would help me do that. So I landed on the Song of Solomon. I committed to learning as much of this book as possible.
I memorized the first chapter and would repeat it often throughout the day. I didn't know much of what I was repeating but it sure made me happier and on fire for God. I grew so fast repeating the first chapter over and over again all day, like a dozen times a day at least. It felt so good and I never found any other book that caused me to weep so much. I would often weep everyday just reading it. I was to immature to know what was going on. Even though it hurt to weep so much, I felt like my heart was being cleansed from the filth that was in it by repeating it over and over again so I did. As I read the commentary I understood more and more. What God was doing in me through the Song was greater and faster than any other portion of Scripture so I tended to stay there often. I was so excited about God that I thought it funny that other's in church weren't the same way. Some where happy but it seemed most of them didn't seem to care much about God. They would talk about work, football the weather. The only thing I wanted to talk about was Jesus and God and how can I grow closer to Him.
About this time there was a mission trip to Ireland.
I started to have convictions that I should try to find Bob and witness to him. I kept praying for him but how could he be saved if he hadn't heard the Gospel that has power unto salvation. So I asked family if they had any information. Like me before, my family hated him and thought he deserved hell. After some time I got his name but no location or phone number. Either they didn't know where he was or didn't want to tell me. I prayed some more and then started to get stronger convictions to do something about finding Bob.
So I went on the internet and typed in "his name and child molestation sex offender court" thinking that some court record would have some info leading to where I may find him" I even talked to a private eye and he couldn't help. So I googled some key words and spent hours each day looking through each page. I believed it was God's will for me to witness to Bob. I wanted him to be saved. Really bad. So much so that I thought God would save Bob if I were to witness to him. So I didn't stop searching for him. I kept my computer on each day and went page by page. It took two years to go through about 15,000 pages but I found someone who matched his name in a prison for molesting his grandchildren. I wrote the prison and he wrote back. All kinds of emotions went through my body when I saw his letter from the jail. I didn't open it right away but two hours later God gave me enough courage to face my fears again and I opened the letter. He admitted to being the one who molested me. We wrote back and forth I told him I was angry before but now I was saved and that I loved him and believed God wanted me to talk to him. He read my letters over and over again. I shared the gospel in each one.
I got mad at Bob 2x. Once he said that he love me. I got really angry with him. He didn't love me. That night it was hard to love Bob, I had to call a friend to pray for me to repent, after he prayed I felt greater love for Bob. Then I wrote him back saying "I'm sorry but you can't say that you loved me. You did not love me you lusted after me." He admitted he didn't love as he should have and admitted that it was lust and sinful. Finally some conviction. Yet I only thought he was saying that because I was being nice to him. All his family had left him and he said I was the only "friend" he had.
Wether or not it was true Bob said that he had cancer in his arm and that the help the prison gives was not enough and if he had money he could see a different doctor and get help. I sent him some money and since I was in jail before I knew what it was like to be in there without money, so I sent him money.
About 4-5 months in the economy went down, it was 2008. Work was hard. I still sent him money and I had to work harder. This was a really good lesson for me because I had to "work hard for the benefit of someone who did not deserve it." This was one of the greatest blessing ever because I realized with great certainty that Jesus was in me. This is what Jesus did. Jesus worked his whole life for me and I didn't deserve it!! Christ was in me! This was one of the best feelings ever and it put me in worship for months.
Then a mission trip to Croatia.
Each time I had to leave my business and amazing as it is I was completely okay each time. I am a self employed personal trainer and it is normally absurd to just leave and start over, but each time I had enough work within 2 weeks of coming back. This is a flat out miracle. I trusted God to provide and he did. How many people can start up a business in 2 weeks. Only with the help of God. God was teaching me early on in my walk that as long as I did what He wanted me to do then I had nothing to worry about.
About 3 years saved now.

Left my business 2x for mission trips and God miraculously provided when I came back.
I taught 5 x a week plus held a job.

I grew up hating God for what happened to me, and now I love Him because He first loved me. My passion is for children to grow up loving God and not hating Him.
My other passion which has become ever greater is to help others see the Love of Christ to His Church in the Song of Songs!!
