Song of Songs 1 .3 Thy Name is As Ointment Poured forth . [a Good name is as precious ointment]

It was a Custom Amongst the Jews to Anoint themselves with Oil Whereby they made their faces shine, Which used to be Esteemed Considerable Ornament, we Read 104 Ps

15 verse that the Use of oil was to make the face to shine.

There was also another End of it they were want to perfume their oil and make it very  odoriferous and anoint themselves with it so that wherever they went they might be Encompass’d with a fragrancy. they Used a Great deal of Art in Perfuming their Ointments.

But of all ointments that were Amongst them the holy Anointing oil was the sweetest and had the most excellent fragrancy this was Compounded by Gods Art and not mans.

Tis to this oil that the Grace of Charity is Compared Ps 133 Psalm. with this oil there were none to be anointed but sacred officers that were types of Jesus X. We Read of the Composition of it Exod 30 23 24 25. take unto thee Principal spices of Pure myrrh

five hundred shekels of sweet  Cinnamon half so much even two hundred and fifty shekels of sweet Calamus two hundred and fifty shekels of Cassia five hundred shekels after the shekel of the sanctuary and of oil olive.  An hin And thou shalt make it an oil of holy Ointment an Ointment Compound after the Art of the Apothecary it shall be an holy anointing oil


This holy Anointing oil signified the holy Ghost the priests were Anointed with this oil to signifie X being Anointed with the holy Ghost . and the spices and fragrancy of this Ointment signified the Graces of the spirit of God . Therefore When it is said in this verse because of the savour of thy Good Ointments thy Name is as ointment Poured forth it intends because of thy Graces and excellencies.  spiritual Grace and excellency is often Compared in this song to the same spices that the holy Anointing oil was Compounded especially in the 13 and 14 verses of the 4 Chapter .

Tis because of these that is because of his excellency that his name is as Ointment Poured forth. that is he was so excellent a person that the very mentioning of his name filled the heart with delight as the Pouring of a sweet ointment especially the holy anointing oil Caused a sweet fragrancy

the Ointment when Pouring out was under the least advantages to send forth its savour


Doc That Christ Jesus is a person transcendently excellent And lovely desirable we shall show it in the following Particulars.

I  There are all divine excellencies in him. he has the Nature of the Infinite Jehovah in himhe is the son of God when a Father begets a son he begets one of the same Nature Adam begat a son in his own Likeness that is with his own Nature so the son of God is a son with Nature of God in him . He is the Perfect Image of God but that is not a perfect Image that don’t fully Come up to the Original. He is the Eternal God and is therefore Called the Everlasting Father Isai 9: 6 unto us a Child is born and his name shall be Called the Everlasting Father. so he tells us in the 8 of Proverbs that he was set up from everlasting from the beginning or ever the Earth was. when there was no depths he was brought forth when there was no fountains abounding with water. before the mountain were settled before the hills he was brought forth. while he had not yet made the Earth nor the fields nor the highest Part of the dust of the world . so it is said micah 5

There are all divine excellencies in him.  He has something of the nature of the infinite Jehovah in him.  He is a beloved son of God, Jedidiah.  When the Father has a son it is of the same nature, so the son is a son with the love and wisdom of God in him.  He is the closest image of God, and not the perfect image of God because he doesn’t come up to the Original, like the Eternal Son of God.

1 .2 That his Goings forth were of old from Everlasting.

God tells moses that his name is I am that I am and X speaks in the same stile before Abraham is I was I am so he tells us th In Revel that he is he that is And was and is to Come the first and the Last. God is a being of Infinite Power and might X is also Called the mighty God Isai 9. 6. so he tells us in Revelations that he is the Almighty Rev 1 . 8.

God is an unchangeable God. Jesus X is the same yesterday to day and forever Heb 13 8 God is an Infinitely happy and blessed God so Jesus X he is God over all blessed forevermore Rom 9. 5 . God is a holy God he Calls him the holy one and the holy one of Israel. so X is Called the holy one Act 3 14 so Revelation 3 1, 7 he is

Called he that is holy When the Angel Came to mary to tell her that she should be the mother of X he tells that holy thing that should be born of her should be Called the son of

God.

X Jesus is Clothed with the majesty and Glory of God

Ps 45 6 3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh O most mighty with thy Glory and thy majesty and in the 6 verse thy throne O God is forever and Ever hear the Angels worshipping before him Covering their faces and their feet with their wings he & Crying holy, holy, holy Lord God of hosts the whole Earth is full of thy Glory Isai 6. 3  for that was X that then Appeard and is so explaind in the

( [Love to the Father] [God is a God of Infinite Goodness and Grace)

[new testament.] so we are told that the height & depth &

Prov 8 30. [Does JE mean Rom. 8:39?]


X Jesus having the divine Glory he is Infinitely higher than the Angels the throne of his Glory is Infinitely exalted above them who worship at his feet and he humbles himself to behold the things done in heaven he Greatly Condescends to look down on the hosts of heaven. Tis the honor and happiness and Glory of Angels to be in his Presence to behold his Glory and to worship before Him


4 it may be Considerd that perfections Reflect upon Another and makes another more Lovely. Thus his wisdom makes his Power the more Glorious . th If he were Infinitely

Powerfull and Could do what he Pleased yet if he had not wisdom to direct his Power he would indeed be a dreadfull being but not Glorious.

They Are Not fit to have Power in their hands that lack wisdom to Manage the Greater Power a foolish being has the Greater Confusion

But he that is Infinitely Powerfull and has also Infinite wisdom to Guide his Power in

one worthy of Infinite honour and Glory. so on the other hand his wisdom Recieve Glory

from for however wise he were if he were a weak being and Unable to execute his exert his wisdom and Put it into act is not so Glorious as he that is Wise and is able to do whatever his wisdom directs to .

so his Infinite Understanding and Power Receives Glory from his holiness the more powerfull and the more a wicked being is the more hateful the devil is the more hatefull for his being so Powerful and so Crafty . because he is a wicked being and he

has the Greater Opportunity to Exert his wickedness his wickedness is the more mischievous. and powerfull and holy.

So On the Other hand X holiness Recieves Glory from his Power and Wisdom. To see an Infinitely Great and wise being of a holy and excellent disposition is more Glorious than to see a weak  Ignorant person holy.  Holiness indeed is excellent in what subject soever. if he found it in beauty and excellency it self and makes all Excellent in Whomsoever it be found but it is more excellent when it is Joind with wisdom.

There Are some Persons that have true holiness that yet for want of wisdom and through natural Imprudence don’t  appear so amiable as otherwise they would do. they spoil

the beauty of their holiness as appearing unto others through their Imprudence but it is an Amiable sight to see holiness exercised with wisdom and discretion especially must it be exceeding Glorious to see Infinite holiness and Infinite wisdom meeting together in one person, such wisdom is Glorious wisdom indeed that is a holy wisdom and  such holiness is beautifull Indeed that is an Infinitely Wise holiness and Especially is it Glorious to see both meeting in a person of Infinite Greatness and majesty. if so the mercy & love of X Recieves

a Great Addition of Glory from the Greatness

& Infinite happiness it is more wonderful  & admirable to see one that in is infinitely high and mighty and happy  to be full of Pity full of Love of tender Compassion Infinite in Loving Kindness & tender mercies tis a wonderfull sight to see such an ocean

of Love and pity in the heart of him that sits upon a throne of Glory

All these Recieve Glory from his Unchangeableness

for if X were never so Glorious yet if he were Changeable and he did not know how soon he might loose his Glory he would not be so worthy that man should Entirely set their hearts upon him.

But all divine Perfections meet together in Jesus X

and Reflect Glory upon one Another he has Infinite holiness and Infinite love and Pity and

Grace and he has an Infinitely wise and Powerfull & unchangeable holiness, love & Grace. the divine Perfections do sweetly Kiss and Embrace Each other.


2. These  excellencies Are  set forth to our view to very Great advantage in the person of Jesus X.  the Constitution of his Person is such that the divine excellency appears

in him with very Great Advantage . The Infinitely

Great and Awful and his majesty did as it were forbid that Intimate Acquaintance with him but Jesus X God man is near so he is one of us so that we may Come to him boldly and behold all those Glorious excellencies, his beauty. We behold the divine

beauty under Great Advantage in X because the divine beauty in him is with Us and is Come to dwell Amongst. the divine beauty  is Given to us in X so that we see and can be  familiarly Conversant with it. that that which was at a Great distance is Now Come near to us and as we behold it so it should appear more lovely and Amiable to us.

Tis An Endearing Consideration that  all this divine excellency is in our nature is United to humanity. we should love him Now as not only because he is thus Glorious and excellent in himself but because he is one of Our brethren as he Calls his disciples his brethren. are in a divine person. what Can be a Greater honour for to meekness


2 The Office and Character that he bears sets forth his beau

tu Excellency in an Endearing light. as he is our Redeemer and saviour. he is more lovely as he infinitely wise.

Perfectly holy, Infinitely Gracious and Compassionate Redeemer & saviour than absolutely Considerd as an Infinitely wise holy & Gracious person. so he sustains other Endearing Characters and Relations to us

he Ca his people he is their Friend. he is their head

Their Father their husband. their

is no Relation that Implies nearness or dearness but

he sustains it towards his people a now every perfection Recieves an Additional Loveliness from hence his Power and wis wisdom should be the more Glorious in our eyes

as it is the wisdom of our blessed Lord & King.

his mercy & Love should be the more delightfull & sweet to us as

it is the Love & Faithfulness of Our nearest Friendof our Lord and spouse


so the states and Conditions that he has been in do very much Illustrate his divine Glory and make it to Appear in a stronger light. when one Considers the mean and Low Condition that he was in in this world if we behold him born of a virgin of mean degree if we Consider him as a little Child nursed in born in a stable and nursed in the Arms of his humble mother and then Consider that this Child of the os Obscure virgin is the Great

and mighty the King of Glory by whom and for whom all things Are made the thoughts of it this divine tend to strike the mind with abundantly more strength

his divine Greatness is Illustrated by his external meanness to see such Infinite Goo majesty and excellency United in one person tends to fix the view of the mind with

the more Intenseness upon the two extremes and his

divine brightness will shine with the more strength if

we Compare it with his outward obscurity


so if we Consider him as hated of men If we had such

a view of him as the shepherds had they first heard the Angels and the multitude of the heavenly hosts  singing Glory to God in the highest on Earth Peace Good will towards men. and telling of em this day was

born unto them a saviour even X the Lord.and then Come and see him

an Infant Lying in a manger wherin they saw his Outward

meanness the d his divine Glory would appear to us in Abundantly the more surprizing light.

so If we Consider the son of God as mocked a by men and

spat upon and at Last made a sacrifice to their malice

and Cruelty and view him hanging upon the Cross. and

Consider him as the Ete Everlasting and supreme and most

Glorious God & the son of God it tends the

more to strike the mind with an admiring sense

his divine Greatness and Glory.

If we should see a dear Friend in extremity of suffering supposing it were suffering the Cruelty of Barbarous Enemies would it put us in mind of all that is Lovely and desireable in ’em.

would  not it not make all their Good Qualifications appear in the strongest and most affecting light


4 3 Jesus X has in himself all human excellencies

Every that Can Possibly Render Any human Creature Amiable X has it in himselfthe humanity

is in it self Capable of being Advanced to a Great  marginal

degree of excellency and Amiableness if we shoud

marginal

set our selves to devise as excellent a human person

as we Could devise by Removing all faults and all

marginal

sorts of Imperfections and by supposing all sorts of

excellencies meeting in him and that to as highest

degree as we Could devise we might form an amia-

ble Creature in Our Imaginations. but X in his

manhood is so Amiable and more lovely. he was

without Any fault or blame he was perfectly Inno-

cent and perfectly holy and not only meerly so holy

as to be without sin but he was transcendently holy in

his human nature. more holy than the Angels of

heaven. he was a person without all folly he was

of exceeding Great wisdom and Prudence as the whol

tenour of his life here upon Earth showed And his Cond

in Every Case . it makes a man appear lovely in our eyes

to see him of a wise prudent and discreet behaviour.

we Read that david Got the love of all Israel by

his behaving himself wisely. X wisdom and prudence

is spoken of in the scripture it was prophesied of Isai

52 13 behold my servant shall deal prudently and it

is spoken of Ephes 1 8 wherin he hath abounded to

towards us in all wisdom and prudence tis what  marginal


Tis what Especially Renders a man Lovely and hon

ourable when he is beautifull openhearted, full of

Goodness, Love, Condescension, Compassionate, full of

humility and meekness. these things above all things

make a man excellent and desireable in the Eyes

X had all these things in his human nature in per

fection the highest Perfection. The sincerity and won-

derfull ardency of X and kindness his wonderfull piti-

full and Compassionate Nature and the tenderness of

his heart his Great love to mankind and all that were

his taking so much pains appears by his all the deeds

of his life by his taking so much Pains to Instruct men

to Relieve their souls and to Relieve their bodies to Re-

lieve them under all sorts of Calamities, amongst Innu

merable other things his taking so much pains and being

so much Concern’d to for the Comforting his disciples Just

before his death. when he had all the horrours of death

Just before his eyes and we know he was not a little

effct affected by the prospect of it. and Yet he seems

to be much more Concernd for his disciples than himself

he seems to be wholly taken up in pitying them in Coun-

celling and exhorting them and praying for them and the  marginal

Church. how strange it seems to see a man that is Going

to be tormented to death so much taken up in pitying his

friends love & Concern for others.


And Under all the Calamities that X Injuries that X

sufferd from Cruel men he was far from a Revengefull spi-

rit he never sought to be Revenged of his Enemies tho he

had so many of em that so Constantly maligned and

persecuted and Reproached him we have no Instance

of his seeking Revenge in his whole life and when

he died no shadow or appearance of any desire of Revenge

he Gave no directions or Counsels to his disciples tending

to this nor did he let drop any thing out of his mouth

manifesting any Res Revengefull thought or Inclina-

tion of heart.

and when X Prayed and Pleaded that his Enemies might

be forgiven upon the Cross he did it heartily and not feign-

edly and affectedly for what heart would Any one have

to feign and play the hypocrite in the Agonies of death

nor had he Any temptation to feign it for honour and ap-

plause for in those days as it was not Accounted a duty

or virtue to amongst the Jews to do Good to Enemies

or wish well to them.

how wonderfull meek he was appears by his washing Ju

das’s his feet Joh 13 tho he knew he was Just about to be  marginal

tray him an yea and at that time actually Intended to

do it at that time as appears by verse 2 and X knew it

at that time for as soon as he had done he told the disci-

ples that one of em should betray him.

It is a Great manifestation of X humility and Contempt

of the Gloru vain Glory that we Are so often told that

after the Lord Jesus had Performed some Eminent mi

racle he witdrew himself and Retired from the multitude

that he might not be mixed with their Praises. how ex

ceeding Agreable is it to an Eminently vertuous and ho

ly mind after his vertues and excellencies have been

very signally manifested and Remarkeably Publishd

to mans admiration to delight to withdraw and be alone

in Retired Places to Contemplate and Converse with God

with a neglect of the Praise and Admiration of men


but it would be Endless to Give Instances of this na-

ture the life of X is full of them. which manifest the

manifest the Great excellency of his spirit and tem-

per.


And as we said Concerning the divine excellencies

of X so we may say Concerning these excellencies of

his manhood that they reflect light upon one another

his wisdom and prudence makes his holiness the more  marginal

marginal

lovely. and his prudence and holiness makes Gives

beauty to his love to his weekness beauty and Charity

[and kind Compassionate disposition]  marginal

and his humility Gives beauty to all.

so also his divine excellencies ad his the excellencies

of his Godhead and of his manhood Re do Illustrate

one another when we see Infinite Greatness, and so

Great humility. Infinite majesty and transcendent

meekness and meeting in the same person it is an ex

cellent and Ravishing sight.


[7] 5 The Excellencies of X are Manifested in the ex-  marginal

ercises and fruits of em . in a transcendent degree and

manner . The exercises of the vertues and ex ex-

cellencies of Jesus X Consist in these three things

In his Acts. In his speech, & in his spirit.


1 X Acts do wonderfully show forth his excellencies

I speak now Only of his Acts Relating to Our Redem-

tion. if we begin from Eternity at his Entring into

Covenant of Redemption with the Father and Come

down to his acts here upon the Earth and Continue

our thoughts in to the End of the world to hi viewing

him Interceding at the Right hand of God. and bringing

home sinners Calling them out of darkness into mar-  marginal

vellous light and bringing of em home to Glory and

at Last Redeeming and Glorifying their bodies we

may see his Glory shining in every part

his Undertaking of Our Redemption before the beginning

of the world or ever the Earth w or the heavens

were manifests his Infinite holiness and Infinite

Grace shows that his heart was nothing but an In-

finite Ocean of love he showd his boundless love to God

that he was willing and Rejoiced to Do such things

for his Glory and he showed his transcendent love to

man. that he was willing to do and bear so much for yr happiness


so his actual Performing of it his Leave the throne of

Glory and Coming into the world to dwell amongst

sinners in their nature to Obey the Law and especia

in his manifold sufferings and especially his Last passion

the love of X to God and p man upon the Cross is set forth

in the strongest light Possible There is the Eternal God

suffering for his own fallen Creatures that they might

be happy and not miserable.

so he Continually manifests the same in his Interceeding

in Glory for Pe his poor Infant Redeemed ones on earth

Earth. tho he be now advanced to Glory far above all

principality & power yet he dont forget his [Poor] follower

marginal

and disciples on Earth no he Remembers tthem  marginal

every day. he has their Names upon his heart every

moment. as Aaron had the names of the tribes

upon his breastplate.

so he shows his Glory by daily Converting of sinners

by bringing one and Another out of a wretched and un-

done Condition unto a state of Grace and he Crown

all his love before the beginning of the world

and his Incarnation & death and his Converting of sin-

ners by bringing home his own to Glory and at Least

Last in openly acquitting of em and I Taking of

them with their Glorious bodies to dwell with

himself forever.


  1. his speech shows his Great excellency. that is

his word is most excellent. the Gospel is the word of  marginal

X . Therefore the spouse said Cant 5 16 his mouth

is most sweet. Therefore she says again Chap 4 11

Thy lips o my spouse Drop as the honey Comb. honey

and milk are under thy tongue. that is when you spa

thou speakest thy speech is more sweet than honey

and your ti Lips when you speakest are more delightfull

than if they dropd as the honey Comb . so Psalm 45

2 Grace is poured into thy lips.  marginal

Once as X was speaking of spiritual things there was a

woman that heard him who after she had heard him

a while she lift up her voice and said blessed is the

womb that bear thee and the Paps which thou hast

sucked.  she was so Ra Ravished by the excel Luke

11 27 she was so Ravished by the excellency of his

speech and he so much manifested the loveliness

excellency of his person thereby that she Could not

but thus break out . X dont deny what she says

but Rather tells her that they are Rather blessed that

heard that word which she so admired and kept it


we have the word of X in Our bibles. X is still speaking

to us in the Gospel his word which most wise and pow-

erfull sweet and holy we As tis more to be prise

prized than Gold yea than much fine Gold. and

sweeter than the hony and the honey comb


3 The spirit of X which he Gives to holi the s his

saints is most excellent. and Greatly shows the ex

cellency of him from whom it proceeds. tis a most a-

miable spirit that Influences the hearts of the excell-

ent of the Earth but this is the spirit of X. tis the

holy spirit that is it sanctifies the Enlightens &

enlivens. it sanctifies. and beautifies and Rejoices  marginal

the heart this is the Immediate fountain of all

Gracious and holy and lovely dispositions and action

and is the most Immediate Emanation and ma-

nifestation of the excellency of X. tis the water

of life that Runs from the throne of the Lamb tis

the L Rays of the Morning star. tis the fragran

cy of the Rose of sharon and the beauty of the Lily

of the valleys  his woos to draw us he woos us in a man

ner that has the Greatest tendency to win our Love

he dont meerly Command us but applies hims. to us in a more

Endearing manner he beseeches us

The use of Jus This doctrine is of Exhortation to

Recieve Jesus By Faith and Love I m would apply

my self to all to sinners those that Are in a natural Con-

dition that never have Recieved X. and those that

have Recieved X Recieve him again Recieve him

more Entirely and with Greater love and delight.

we have heard now of the excellency of Jesus X and

where is Any defect in him what does he want or

what Could he Or any other person have more to make

him yet more honourable or desireable.

O that sinner Let me in X stead Intreat you to Re

ci Enbrace him Who is fairer than the sons of men

fairer than the bright and Glorious Angels. who is  marginal

the Chief of ten thousands and altogether lovely that

is the most lovely of all being the first born of every

Creature made higher than the heaven being

having by Inheritance obtained a more excellent

name than the Angels his name being as an ointment

poured forth and being Anointed with the Oil of Glad-

ness above his followers.

Consider if you Embrace him yo he upon he that offers

himself to be embraced by you is the son of God the

living. the express Image of God. the delight of

God. the man that is Gods fellow who was with

God before the beginning of the world as one

brought up with n him. how Can You do any-

other than Recieve a person of such dignity that

is no Less than the King of Glory the King of kings

the blessed and the only Potentate whose

name is wonderfull. Counsellor the mighty God

the Prince of Peace the Everlasting Father


If you Recieve Jesus X This King of Glory is be

Come near to you in us in the Our own Nature &

in that he stands at and offers himself and his Glory  marginal

to us. he who is the Lion of the tribe of Judah is born

a Lamb. holy meek holy harmless undefiled. if it

be Possible that he Your b heart Can be Ravished

with a P Conjunction of all Glories and that is Ra-

vishing and delighting it will be Ravished by this

saviour Who offers himself to offers himself to

you . Consider two things fur motive


1 If you will Recieve X you shall be one of X be-

long to X you will be one of his precious and dear

ones as the Queen of sheba said to solomon happy

are thy men happy are these thy servants which stand

Continually before thee. 1 Kings 10 8. so we m

hap we may say much more happy are are those

that belong to X that is Great er than solomon.


X Jesus is a light unto his People he is a light that

shines in their hearts. they therefore Are the Children

of the light and of the day and it is marvellous

light that he bestows. he is as a shepherd to be-

lievers he will Lead them as in Green Pastures and by

the sides of still waters. he will feed his flock like

a shepherd he will Gather the Lambs with his

Arms and Carry them in his Bosom.

m the benefits which X bestows are exceeding Great  marginal

he has the sweetest food the Richest dainties and

wine and milk the bread and water of life a feast

of fat things and wines on the lees well Refine  marginal

they that Recieve he will Come And they shall

feast with them and they shall feast with him.


X has White Raiment to Clothe us…. he has Gold

tried in the fire to Enrich us . see what X tells

us Prov 8 18, 19. 20 Riches and honour are with c

me Yea durable Riches and Rich Righteousness

my fruit is better than Gold yea than fine Gold

and my Revenue than Choice silver. I Lead in that

way of Righteousness in the midst of the Paths of

Judgment. That I may Cause those that love me

to Inherit substance and I will fill their treasure

also 34 and 35 Blessed is the man that heareth me

watching daily at my Gates and waiting at the post

of my doors. for Whoso findeth me findeth life


as there is the Greatest Profit so there is the best Plea-

sure in being one of Xs. his Love is better than wine

The king will bring his spouse into his Chambers &

she shall be Glad and Rejoice in him and Remem-  marginal

ber his love more than wine. X is as the Apple tree

amongst the trees of the wood who under whose

shad i the saints sit down with Great delight &

his fruit is sweet unto their tast. he X is as it

were Perfumed with all the Chief spices being as

nointed with the oil of Gladness alm with the

holy anointing oil.

and they that Are X they shall Enjoy Riches and

honour and Joy and Pleasure forevermore he X is

fountain of living waters that is never spent he

that believeth on him out of his he shall have a

well spring of living water within him and shall

never thirst more. those that X loves he will

love to the End he will set them as a seal upon

his heart and he they where he is there they

shall be also.

This Let me therefore again beseech you to Let

in X into your heart when he Calls arise up and joy

fully Recieve Rejoice Greatly because thy King

Cometh unto thee and O Give him Good Enter-

tainment. and when you have found him hold him

& Resolve that you will not Let him Go

2dly X Courts your heart. you have what he says

in his word and his voice is to the sons of men that

the King of Glory stoop to he that stoop’d to be in

our nature and die for us stoops to be a suitor to

Our hearts. behold I stand at the door and knock

says he if you hear my voice open the door and

I will Come in and dwell with you. behold my

arise for my head is wet with the dew and my to

Locks with the drops of the night. Come unto me

ye that thirst Come and have bread wine and milk

freely Incline your Ear to me and Let your soul

delight it self in fatness. Come ye that Labour

and are heavy Laden and I will Give You Rest and

many other the like expressions of X have we

Saved in 2000 at age 27. Nearly immediately I fell in love with the Song and grew very fast the first two years memorizing large portions of scripture purifying my mind the started chewing on meat to soon and struggled for 12 years and Christ has me on track like always but I just took the long way around and now I love leading others closer to Christ by seeing His love reflected in Solomons love for an enemy slave girl.

I have experienced God's love to me in the Song in ways that words can't express. There are many portion of the Word where she experiences extra ordinary outpouring of the Holy Spirit of God. If you have a burning desire for a close intimate relationship with God by experiencing His Love to you over and over again at greater and greater heights, depths, lengths and breaths then The Song of Songs is where you need to be.

I can help you with this process of Growing in the experience of God's love. As of 7-23-16 I have experienced everything prior to chapter 8. The Song of Song is progressive in experience. Meaning that if you are mature then you can experience the joys and extraordinary outpourings of God's Love shed abroad in your heart.

If you are not so mature then the delights in the first chapter of the Song will satisfy your thirst for experiencing the Love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Many Christian are living in sin because they do not know how to experience God's love and get hooked on Loving Him. It feels good to be loved and to love Him. His burden is not heavy and His yoke is light, Jesus said in Matt. 10:28

I believe God wants to use me to help beautify His Bride through the Song of Solomon.

If you see the book literally you will not understand nor grasp the Love God has for you. If you see the book and the verses in it relating to Christ's love to you then I would love to show you how to experience this Love to the fullest. I will pray for you daily and guide you every step of the way.

16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

I grew up going to church but was a hypocrite. I lived my life how I chose but went to church on Sunday because my family went.

Mom and Dad divorced when I was about 5.

About this time I was sexually abused by "Bob" a made up name. This incident changed my life for the worst. I had no clue how to deal with it.

As I got older I grew in my hatred for Bob. I didn't blame anyone of my family because I was to young to know any better. Some of what happened during the abuse was in a bathroom. So overtime I would use the bathroom and look at my private parts that night would replay in my mind. My hatred for Bob would continue to grow each time.

Now I know this only happened to me one night. I can't image the pain other's go through who have had this happen to them over and over. Even as I write this now I cry with many tears for those hurting. God love you even though you may not know it or feel it. Go to Him in your time of need.

I was a really bad teenager. I only cared about myself and not even my family. I always came first in my mind. Even at the expense of hurting others. I was growing in my hatred for God by now.

I was going to church and was learned that God was in control. I thought well, if God was in control then He must have let me be sexually abused. I didn't understand this, How could a good and loving God allow this. I hated Him for it. My hatred for Bob grew as well. I was still using the bathroom and memories kept coming back. My heart grew even harder for Bob and God. As far as I was concerned God would have nothing to do with my life so I lived even worse. I thought I would be in jail or dead and I really didn't care, I thought it could be much worse than reliving your painful past over and over again. Little did I know that God's plan later would be to use these events to give me a burning passion for the closest most intimate love relationship with Himself through Christ mainly through the love poem in the Song of Songs in the Bible.

I remember hating Bob so much that the only thing that would relieve my pain was actually thinking he would suffer forever for what he did. I grew so much in my hatred for him that I had to continue to think that he would get even worse than what I imaged before. After some time I would only be relieved of hatred for him unless I thought he would burn in a hotter and hotter hell for all the suffering he put me through.

I never told my mom or family what happened, although I think some of them knew something had happened.

I grew up quite rebellious and even went to jail at the age of 20. I was living the fast life pursuing all my sinful desires and wanting more. It never seemed to be enough. I was quite happy in my sin but I just wanted more of it.

I lived life thinking I would die at a young age, riding motorcycle and living on the edge put me in the hospital many times and I should have been dead.

California at age 26.

I moved to California for a job opportunity at the age of 27. While trying to figure out what radio stations to program in my car, I ran across a RC Sproul talking about "people who have the faith that saves and people who only say that have faith" only the people who have the faith that saves will go to heaven. I thought "I don't think I have the faith that saves because my life was so bad." I searched the scriptures to try to get this faith. I found a church and thought people there could help me get this faith that saves. All along God kept showing me how sinful I was and that I deserved punishment from Him for living my life hating Him.

One weekend I read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John desperately trying to find out how to get this faith that saves. By now I knew that if you had the faith that saves that Jesus would be saving you from a life of sin. I still liked my sin and Jesus sure wasn't saving me from a life of sin, so I rightly concluded that I didn't have the faith that saves.

By the time I got to John, I saw "believe" everywhere. John 3:16 and other verses and wow the whole book was written so that you may believe. John 20:31 "these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." So at night I would pray "I believe Jesus died for me, I believe, I believe. This was just an intellectual belief. I knew that in history and the Bible that Jesus died for everyone, so I believed it. But this belief did not change my life.

I would go on night after night saying the same prayer only to wake up the next day wanting to fulfill my sinful desires. The prayer wasn't working so I started to word it different each time hoping some prayer would work. After about 2 weeks of this I was fed up with it all, nothing was happening. I still was living in my sin and wanted more of it. A Christian hates their sin and does something about it, and certainly they don't continue to make plans to sin. The prayers weren't working so I gave up. I thought to myself "God, I tried with all my might, I searched the Scriptures, went to church, read the Bible and prayed all to no avail. If Im going to be saved your going to have to do it because I tried."

So I quit praying but still the Bible kept calling me so I read more. 3 Days later I was laying in a tanning bed and God convicted me really hard that I had offended Him by the life I was living. I was so scared of God, where could I run. You can't hide from God. It seemed like forever that I was under these terrors of being punished by a Holy Angry God. This lasted about 10 minutes then this is how I understood it. God let me understand that all that anger that He had for me for all my sin should come my way but He had poured that anger out on Jesus 2,000 years ago. I immediately started weeping an couldn't stop for about 20 minutes. All the sins that I could think of I confessed for that 20 minutes one after another after another, I was so sorrowful and grieved it physically hurt inside.

After I stopped crying I thought that was the weirdest thing that ever happened. I walked out of the tanning salon and stood outside and everything seemed so beautiful, the tree's, the birds, even the air seemed pleasant. Now I was really wondering what was going on.

I pondered all of this as I drove to work that day. I brought my Bible to work and was thinking what am I doing, I want to take my Bible to work so I can read it. As soon as I got to work I started reading my Bible. I couldn't believe what I was reading!! It all was so wonderful. It felt so good to just read my Bible. My client showed up and as I was training them the only thing I could think about was getting back to my Bible. I read all night and slept about 2 hours and was reading again.

I had sinful things in my apartment and I rounded everything evil up and threw it in the garbage. It was weird I was thinking but it felt good so I left it all in the garbage. I called my girlfriend to break it up and she thought I had another girl, I said no, I just think this is wrong we shouldn't be sleeping together. She didn't understand so I told her I was a Christian now and she still thought I had another girlfriend. She said "Im glad your a Christian, so am I" I thought to myself, "I have a strong conviction that sleeping together is wrong and she thought it was okay" I wondered how she could think that. Anyway we broke up.

I kept reading my bible and repenting, there was so much to repent of and I had lived a very sinful life. I was a thief for some part of my life and all the people I stole from kept coming to mind. I owed so much money. I was instantly in debt about $80,000. As I could I paid them back. As of 7-18-2016 I still owe about $25,000 but it sure is a joy to be paying them back.

The first week of being saved a car just about ran me over, they hit me but I wasn't hurt at all. The guy in the car felt so bad. I just looked at him and said "God bless you and have a great day, I am okay" smiled at him and moved on. Now I was really wondering what was going on because I normally would have cussed him out left and right and instead of cussing I blessed him. That was so weird. But again it felt good. I learned to do good by what my conscience told me was good and that it felt good. I got hooked on this feeling good by doing good and did it more often.

About two weeks after being saved I thought of Bob. I immediately prayed for him, something like "Lord help him.." then I stopped praying and said out loud "What am I doing?" I'm praying for a man that I hated my whole life, but it feels good and right, so I did it again. I stopped again midway in the prayer and started pacing around. I was trying to make sense of what was going on and couldn't figure it out. But again it made me happy to pray for him so I did. Bob would often come to mind when I went to the bathroom and each time I would pray for Him. The more I did this the less weird it got. And the greater my love grew for him.

I started memorizing large portions of scripture and this was wonderful because it felt like the words were cleaning my mind and as Proverbs 2:10 "For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul." I wanted more and more of this pleasantness. So I memorized even more and the joy got more and more.

Then this life changing advice came:

A friend from church told me to find a book of the Bible and really understand it. Read through the Bible and pick one and read it over and over and study it and really get it. So I started in Genesis and read through. When I got to Proverbs I really liked it so I thought that would be the book. I started by memorizing all of Proverbs chapter 3. After that I thought maybe there is a better book than Proverbs. So I read on. Then I came to Song of Solomon. I read it with quite some confusion. It wasn't as good as the other books, I didn't know why. So I bought a commentary on it. George Burrowes commentary on the Song of Solomon.

In the commentary I found that George and other saw the book as illustrating God's love to the Church. And not only illustrating it but displaying the Love of Christ better than any other book. This caught my attention big time, because I was having a burning desire for a closer relationship with God and desperately learning about His Love so that I could Love God. You see I had hated Him for so long that God used that old hard heart to spur me on in loving Him. I so much did not want to hate God anymore that I was on fire to learn to Love Him as much and as fast as possible. So here was a book that would help me do that. So I landed on the Song of Solomon. I committed to learning as much of this book as possible.

I memorized the first chapter and would repeat it often throughout the day. I didn't know much of what I was repeating but it sure made me happier and on fire for God. I grew so fast repeating the first chapter over and over again all day, like a dozen times a day at least. It felt so good and I never found any other book that caused me to weep so much. I would often weep everyday just reading it. I was to immature to know what was going on. Even though it hurt to weep so much, I felt like my heart was being cleansed from the filth that was in it by repeating it over and over again so I did. As I read the commentary I understood more and more. What God was doing in me through the Song was greater and faster than any other portion of Scripture so I tended to stay there often. I was so excited about God that I thought it funny that other's in church weren't the same way. Some where happy but it seemed most of them didn't seem to care much about God. They would talk about work, football the weather. The only thing I wanted to talk about was Jesus and God and how can I grow closer to Him.

About this time there was a mission trip to Ireland.

I started to have convictions that I should try to find Bob and witness to him. I kept praying for him but how could he be saved if he hadn't heard the Gospel that has power unto salvation. So I asked family if they had any information. Like me before, my family hated him and thought he deserved hell. After some time I got his name but no location or phone number. Either they didn't know where he was or didn't want to tell me. I prayed some more and then started to get stronger convictions to do something about finding Bob.

So I went on the internet and typed in "his name and child molestation sex offender court" thinking that some court record would have some info leading to where I may find him" I even talked to a private eye and he couldn't help. So I googled some key words and spent hours each day looking through each page. I believed it was God's will for me to witness to Bob. I wanted him to be saved. Really bad. So much so that I thought God would save Bob if I were to witness to him. So I didn't stop searching for him. I kept my computer on each day and went page by page. It took two years to go through about 15,000 pages but I found someone who matched his name in a prison for molesting his grandchildren. I wrote the prison and he wrote back. All kinds of emotions went through my body when I saw his letter from the jail. I didn't open it right away but two hours later God gave me enough courage to face my fears again and I opened the letter. He admitted to being the one who molested me. We wrote back and forth I told him I was angry before but now I was saved and that I loved him and believed God wanted me to talk to him. He read my letters over and over again. I shared the gospel in each one.

I got mad at Bob 2x. Once he said that he love me. I got really angry with him. He didn't love me. That night it was hard to love Bob, I had to call a friend to pray for me to repent, after he prayed I felt greater love for Bob. Then I wrote him back saying "I'm sorry but you can't say that you loved me. You did not love me you lusted after me." He admitted he didn't love as he should have and admitted that it was lust and sinful. Finally some conviction. Yet I only thought he was saying that because I was being nice to him. All his family had left him and he said I was the only "friend" he had.

Wether or not it was true Bob said that he had cancer in his arm and that the help the prison gives was not enough and if he had money he could see a different doctor and get help. I sent him some money and since I was in jail before I knew what it was like to be in there without money, so I sent him money.

About 4-5 months in the economy went down, it was 2008. Work was hard. I still sent him money and I had to work harder. This was a really good lesson for me because I had to "work hard for the benefit of someone who did not deserve it." This was one of the greatest blessing ever because I realized with great certainty that Jesus was in me. This is what Jesus did. Jesus worked his whole life for me and I didn't deserve it!! Christ was in me! This was one of the best feelings ever and it put me in worship for months.

Then a mission trip to Croatia.

Each time I had to leave my business and amazing as it is I was completely okay each time. I am a self employed personal trainer and it is normally absurd to just leave and start over, but each time I had enough work within 2 weeks of coming back. This is a flat out miracle. I trusted God to provide and he did. How many people can start up a business in 2 weeks. Only with the help of God. God was teaching me early on in my walk that as long as I did what He wanted me to do then I had nothing to worry about.

About 3 years saved now.

I Taught the 4 year old's at church Sunday morning for 10 years.

Left my business 2x for mission trips and God miraculously provided when I came back.

I taught 5 x a week plus held a job.

Teaching Monday afternoons at a nursing home. I taught through the Song of Songs once then John, then Romans then back to the Song again! I love the Song of Songs.
I grew up hating God for what happened to me, and now I love Him because He first loved me. My passion is for children to grow up loving God and not hating Him.

My other passion which has become ever greater is to help others see the Love of Christ to His Church in the Song of Songs!!
