Strong Young Man/Woman “2”

Sampson and David were Strong

This is quite a long phase.  From Song of Songs 5:2-8:4.  Out of a fear of making this post to long I will only be brief.  Strong young Man 1 is about the early stages of a young man.  Strong man 2 is the later phase.   Though they blend are really are one phase,  I have split them into two phases.  1 is unbroken communion and phase 2 is communion lost in 5:2 and then restored humbled “down in the garden of 6:2 and so on.

The Strong Young Man/Woman 2

  1.  She is in spiritual lethargy, deserted, abandoned, Jesus is locked out and she is about to be and disciplined then humbled by memories of his excellencies in Song of Songs 5:2-6:1.  And finds him in 6:2.  The strong young man has the word of God abiding in them so the conscience is generally “awake” Song 5:2.  So you know when and what God wants you to do.  Listen!  And don’t delay, she delayed and was disciplined in this section and didn’t get him/Him back till 6:2
  2. In the darkness or light the strong young woman knows what her Lover is like by memory.  The friends ask her and she goes on and on about him. Can you describe Christ like this by memory? The Strong young man can. Song 5:10-16. This focus on the Glory of will change you from one level of glory to another.  Song 5:10-16 is only a reflected glory.  A lesser Christ.  Solomon is the lesser Christ and Christ is the greater.  Argue from the lesser to the greater and behold the Glory of Christ!!
  3. In darkness, discipline or feelings of separation the strong young woman finds the one her heart loves by having right and high thoughts of Christ therefore being humbled and fruitful in His absence and is able to enjoy communion with Him again in Song 6:2 all the way to the rest of the Song!
  4. The strong young woman is now completely given over to her Husband/husband.  Compare Song 2:16 with Song 6:3  Not perfect but the majority of her heart is life is His.  His will and hers are completely one in the Father phase of Song 8:6 when she is a seal on his heart.
  5. The young woman is able to stay humble after long praises of her beautiful moral character Song 6:4-6:11.  A spiritual strong woman is doing many good works and may be getting praises from others.  And even long praises.  Compare the length and glory of the praises of the Babe in Song 1:9-11 then the young man in Chapter 4:1-7 and 4:10-4:15.  Then Solomon pours out even better compliments to the Strong Young Woman in 6:4-6:10.  Then communion is still not broken and he compliments her humble character even more starting from the feet to head in 7:1-7.  She needs to stay humble during these times.  Spiritual pride can set in.  She knows she is more mature than before but see’s herself as very weak and sinful and is leaning much more on her beloved.
  6. This ability to fight pride ( the enemy of Her Lover) is compared to Christ’s desire to see us in battle and winning. Song 8:12
  7. Here I will explain the “Dance of the Mahanaim”. The strong young man gets strong by being able to do the “Dance of the Mahanaim” consisting in continued High thoughts of Christ and low humble thoughts of self, high glorious thoughts of knowing the graces God has given her, balanced with an ability to humble yourself while receiving the compliments, therefore staying and communing with God in His peace at greater lengths, depths and heights.  This is the “Dance of the Mahanaim”  Uplifted in receiving praise and honor from our Lord and down in humbling yourself at his feet, up and down, never breaking communion.  Joy, tears, joy then tears, then joy with tears.

    1. The dance starts with high thoughts of Christ Song in 5:10-16 and ends in 6:13. Although if you are highly blessed the meditation can go all the way to 8:4!  For me this was a 3 hour meditation with interspersed times of worship and broken heartedness.  After the dance Christ then praises her in Chapter 7 and she still stays humble.  Flat out beautiful!!
    2. These high  thoughts of your Husband/husband will humble you therefore allowing the giving of your whole being to Him in Song 6:2-3.  “You are your beloved’s” not only positionally but practically in life.
    3. Your giving your whole being over to the one you love causes him to give you a long praise for this great love to Him.  Song 6:4-9
    4. Other’s see this great love you have for Christ as well and they praise you. Song 6:10
    5. Now after having such high glorious lengthy thoughts of the work of God in your heart you “Go down” you humble yourself in the sight of the Lord (Song 6:11)  Christ delights in this “pomegranate bloom” and he will lift you up in due time.
    6. The time for lifting you up is 6:12 but don’t stay there very long the first few times of killing your pride.   Pride is blinding.  When you can’t see it  you are prideful to some degree, then humble yourself, see your weakness, sinfulness, wretchedness, deserving of Hell forever worse in His Light.  If you see your pride then God is humbling you. “Come back” from the fight.  Therefore you have
    7. “Come back, Come back, (woman at peace with God)  come back before you get prideful in battle.  Song 6:13.  Coming back is so important, therefore it is repeated over and over!  Humble yourself again!
    8. Now you know the Dance of the “Mahanaim”
  8. Wow!!  After such a dance Christ gives you another lengthy praise, this one from foot to head.  He now adores your humble royal feet.  Song 7:1-9

Notes:

Notice that the Strong Young man does not break communion with the Lord all the way from 5:10 to the end of the book!!  The young man becoming a strong young man will break communion in Song 5:2 but will not get it back till God humbles him low enough in 6:2.  He must painfully go through 5:2-6:2 until his Lover so desires to come back and meet you “Down” in 6:2 after you have produced enough fruit in his absence. This loving discipline of the Father is longer than the discipline in 3:1-4 because the strong young man should know better.

Speaking by experience now, I believe you can only do this at a deep level on a day off, shut the phone off and your alone for hours.  Also if you don’t have time then God may call you to do this throughout the night.  Remember in Song 2:8 “Listen my lover, look here he comes”  You will know if and when He is calling you.  You are His sheep, you hear His voice.  Don’t force the time or His coming, yearn for it and when it comes, stay the night with Him and you will have energy for the next day if it’s His will for you to be up late all night or up early to commune with Him.

Do Not Try this if you are a babe, or child.  You will fall all over the place!!  Or try it and you will see that you won’t get far.  It won’t be as delightful and you will not understand the text. The proverbs say humility comes before honor. Love starts in the understanding and if you are less mature you will not understand what to do.  As Paul said it you haven’t had your spiritual senses trained yet in Hebrew 5:14 you won’t be able to digest meat.

Okay, now here is where I admit that I haven’t made it this far.   I stopped at Song 7:10.   I am a young man becoming a strong young man.  At least for the past year.  As of 6-1-2016  I am not strong so I am not going to say what Song 7:10-8:4 is because I have not experienced it well enough yet.  At some degree, yes, but not enough to be confident to say what’s going on.  I believe the song is a parable.  You experience God’s love by asking for it over and over again by praying Song 1:2-4.  As God works in your heart you will feel what she is feeling and know what the text is talking about.  I have only made it to 8:1-2 and that just for a little bit.  Also I believe I have only made it by God’s grace half way up one mountain in Song 8:14  She has produced spices on top of multiple mountains while her lover is gone!!!  As far as I could tell Christ felt presence has been gone many times but only once for about 3-4 hours was I able to stay rejoicing, “The Lord gives His presence, He takes it away”  Blessed be His Name!!  We deserve to be deserted forever and to the deepest degree.  Learn and do the Strong Young Man phase over and over again while never forgetting the babe, child and young man and you will move forward at God’s pace. “Do not arouse or awaken God’s love in your heart, til it pleases” Song 8:4

  1. Babe phase 1:2-1:17
  2. Child phase 2-3:5
  3. Young man 3:6-5:  Strong young man 5:2-8:4
  4. Father/Mother fully adorned 8:5-8:14
