God the Father.
God the Son.
God the Spirit.
Three persons or modes of Existence in and of God.
God the Spirit is Love.

God is love.
God’s love is compared to an unquenchable flame in marriage Song 8:6
Love is the 3rd Person of the Trinity!!!
Get that!! Love is the 3rd Person of the Trinity.
God the Father infinitely loves, there Love is in the Father to an infinite degree. The Father alone is not love.
God is love. Two persons love each other and the love they have for one another is something from God, something of God, has an object and is returned to God.
There is a flow of love in the Trinity.
There is a flow of love in Marriage.
There is a flow of love. The Flow starts with the Father in our way of thinking of it.
The Father loves the Son.
The husband/Husband loves the bride.
The bride experiences love from the husband.
Love is from God the Father to her and her husband for the two are one.
When the wife loves the husband love is returned or made complete
The love flow fulfills its purpose and is completed when seen and delighted in by God and or His people, for a delight in the experience of the Love of God is a delight in God!!
Marriage is a union of souls.
Lets take an example.
A husband has a wife who has just sinned against him. A sin against the husband is a sin against her Greater Husband. A husband in the OT was to reflect the love of God to Israel and the love of the coming Messiah in the marriage. He was to see God’s love to Israel then love their wife the same way. Hosea 3:1. God love Israel His Bride. God out of Love to Spiritual Israel, believers only he forgave, treated physical Israel as if she was sinless because He the “LORD was their righteousness” Jer. 23:6 ,which she adorned herself with.
So God forgave believing Jews of their sins because he said things and they believed it and that faith in God was “credited as righteousness.” Gen. 15:6
So they get united to The LORD who is their righteousness, due to that union in love, a love of forgiveness flows to the sinner. Out of Love to the Sinner God forgives and doesn’t keep a record of sins because love delights in the strictest union with the objection of its affection and if God kept a record then that record would cause separation from God rather than union and sweeter communion.
Solomon still called his bride “my perfect one” Song 6:9 even after she sins. Due to her faith in the person and work of the coming Messiah she is sinless. God promised someone would come that would be a substitute for her sins and she believed it, therefore her account with God was perfect with the righteousness of her LORD credited to her account because she was united to God and God in Christ due to her faith and “love” 8:6.
Jesus forgives His Bride. Jesus loves His Bride.
Husband forgives his bride. A type of Christ loves his bride.
The husband forgives his bride and keeps no anger over her for she is sinless in the person and work of Christ. He treats her as she is in Christ not how she acts. He forgives her. She has sinned against the authority/Authority in the relationship and the authority/authority shows love by forgiving. She experiences to a superlative degree the delights of being forgiven in marriage for love delights in the strictest union with the object/Object of its affection. This forgiveness is an act of love that is more delightful than wine.
Delight in God is the Holy Spirit. Delight in God is the 3rd Person of the Trinity. She has delight in her husbands love and will rejoice and “delight in it more than wine” Song 1:3-4. Notice they delight in the kings love not the king. The kings people praise the newly anointed love of the king. They praise his love or God in him, for God is love.
A delight in her husbands love is a delight in God for God is Love.
God’s love is not reciprocated or returned to Him unless delighted in when received. Love is made complete when we love one another and when we love God. Included in love to God is delight in God. To delight in the experience of God love through a mediator wether it be your husband or Jesus Christ the experience is more delightful than wine.
To be forgiven from a husband or Jesus Christ is more delightful than drinking wine.
Here is a flow of love in the Trinity.
The idea is that anytime a husband loves his wife. Forms of loving her are providing for her, sanctifying her through his actions and words. Praising her noble character, leading her, guiding her, wooing her closer, forgiving her etc are all acts of love. When a husband loves his wife and she delights in him she will praise and delight in his love which is God’s love through him. So her delight is in the love of God in and through him to her. Her response to being loved is to delight in it. This delight in the love of God is something of the Holy Spirit. God delights in Himself and the bride delighted in her husbands love. God is love. God loves His Son. God’s delight is in His Son. God’s delight is in the Son’s holiness which consists in love to God.
Herein love within the trinity is illustrated in a marriage context.
One person/Person loving another person/Person and the love they share is another Person, the Person of the Holy Spirit who is Love. They share the same love. They share the same spirit/Spirit. They share God. They both possess God. God is theirs for He is their God and they are his people for Israel could say of God, “My beloved is mine and I an His”
To delight in the experience of the Love of God is to delight in God for God is love. Inherent in the experience of the Love of God is some idea of God.
In the idea of God is knowledge of Him. We know Him to be loving and love itself. The experience of the love of God is in the soul. The soul has a mind and the soul feels. The mind knows and the inner heart feels or senses emotions like joy, delight, sorrow, anger etc. Even feeling hatred for sin is and experience of the Love of God for love to God hates sin and this is the fear of the LORD.
In order for the completing of love in marriage the wife must delight in the experience of her husbands love just as the bride to be did in Song 1:2-4 for she says of his love “your love is more delightful than wine.” His intimate love had a superlative delightfulness about it that made her want to experience it over and over again. How much more so ought we to want to experience a closer more intimate relationship with Jesus!
Love in marriage is also seen and delighted in when a wife obeys her husband. Here in love is made complete as well.
Also when a husband gives himself to his wife, love desires reciprocation. He gives himself to her and she gives himself to him. He is hers and she is his. Mutual possession. the Father is the Sons God and the Second person of the Trinity is God’s Son. Both the Father and the Son have the Holy Spirit of Love in them and love is the Third Person of the Trinity.
Love gives.
The dying love of Jesus at the cross is greater than Solomon’s love to his wife. Yes Solomon had unmeasurable wisdom to love his wife but Christ died for His Bride. Both loved their wives. Solomon gave himself to his wife out of love and also Jesus gave himself to His bride out of love. Christ gave himself to his Bride in a greater manner and degree.
