The Bride of the Son of God is making an analogy. There is some things similar to what she is feeling with that of fire or a flame. 1 Enlightening 2 Purifying 3 Giving warmth, comfort, joy and delight. 4 Intensifies (Sheol’s limitless appetite) 5 Unites 6 Indestructible 7 From Yahweh 8 Fire and love are two sides of the same coin 9 Priceless
Love is not a flame and flames are not love. Fire is fire and love is love, yet love is like a fire. Similar to a fire like God was not fire but was the something like a bush burning but not being destroyed. Love is like a flame. There are similar things about love and a flame that helped her come to the analogy. In her mind what she felt and understood in her mind about the love of God is that it is “better than wine”. This love in her heart was transformative and gave her a sense of the Love of God that she never sensed before! You rarely forget the first feeling you thought was love!! Times of great emotion store better in the heart than less delightful times. The holy fire brings with it knowledge of God and His Messiah that is pleasing to her because she see’s the beauty of the love of God in her heart when he, Solomon as king, promises to give his life to God and His people so that they could have peace with God and other’s in love. Love being the bond that brings all to perfection and then more perfection. Ever getting more and more beautiful for love’s infinite ocean will never stop enlarging my heart. The larger the heart the more connections reaching out. Love going out. the more connections the greater her moral excellency or light she is to shine for all to see and give glory to God!! Imagine someone who was only dark all the time then one day light shone out of that darkness giving it the knowledge of the love of God in christ/Christ 1:2, it is “better than wine“. Oh Spirit, could I have some more, my soul will never say, “Enough” for it has an insatiable appetite for more .
1 Holy fire enlightens the heart. Love’s fire casts out or scatters the darkness bringing with it affectionate love and truth in the mind and will. The mind is enlightened to see the moral beauty of God and delight in Him. The mind is enlightened to see the holiness of God at the same time the will of the heart is pleased to a great degree with joy and delight unspeakable and full of glory as the soul has a better experience than wine.
There is a flame of fire that gives no light, it is the lamp of the wicked. Job 18:5
The holy fire of love bring with it delight or rejoicing in the truth as dark lies disappear. Knowledge of God. In the light of His Love we see and delight in the Source, God. Light is moral beauty. In His light we see light.
Love lit up her mind like a fire revealing the beautiful Source of love, for in the light of His love we see Light. “There is a beauty in them so divine and God-like, that it greatly and evidently distinguishes them from things merely human” JE
The conviction of the judgment arises from the illumination of the understanding:
Light from God’s Spirit flaming in the heart enables it to have spiritual understanding that the non believer or natural man doesn’t have. The soul’s eyes opened to see and delight in the Beauty of the LORD is a special work of the Spirit of God. The Beauty of the LORD that is both seen and delighted in is his/His holiness which consists in love to God.
Divine love is like a fire in that it purifies the heart.
A larger heart, a heart with more love, a purer heart has had it’s eyes opened wider to higher thoughts of God. Knowledge of God being the Source.
It is a fresh sense a his love that compelled her to want more and in a greater degree. Plus, it was the sense of his/His love that brought with it delight in holy “name” 1:3. The fruit of God’s Spirit on the heart is love. One manifestation that love is in the heart is that delight is felt when thinking of holy beings. The puritans called this “Love of complacency” or simply put “delight in holiness”. Yet this delight in holiness is not alone but inclines will to choose sin less and less.
Love’s flame from God enlightens the heart to know by sense what is morally beautiful “how right they are to adore you” 1:4 ,
Love brings thoughts of the beloved/Beloved with it’s flame.
As fire enlightens our path so that we can see the way so also the light that comes with the flame of truth will lead us in paths of righteousness.
“Oh send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me” Psalm 43:3.
“Indeed, the light of the wicked goes out, And the flame of his fire gives no light” Job 18:5
2 Fire purifies. Fire is a power that purifies gold. Making it more beautiful and valuable. Love is power that makes the soul more beautiful as it gets closer to God. Naamah got closer to God as the Messiah drew her closer to himself. God used the Messiah Solomon to draw Naamah closer to himself/Himself by united them in love.
3 Holy affections like love are not light without heat. Love gives or comes with warmth, comfort, joy and delight. Fire gives off heat as love warms and delights the soul. Fire warms the body as love comforts or gladdens the soul.
4 Intensifies (Sheol’s limitless appetite). Neither Solomon nor Naamah put limits on their love. They did not limit the giving of it, nor did they limit the desiring to have more of it. Their love and desire for more only grew. Their flame of love only grew and intensified through many trials and various forms of opposition. Like Sheol’s appetite for more is never satiated so also was their love never satiated. Love is an insatiable principle in the heart that never stops wanting to give and receive more.
5 Fire unites. Fire unites with fire to make a greater flame provided there is oxygen present. Fire with water puts out the flame but there is within the nature of fire the ability to join with another flame to produce a greater flame Just as love has unrelenting power to unite as death has power to separate so also fire has power to unite flame with flame.
As believers that have the same Spirit and flame of love join together they become greater and more powerful when united. Even though they may have various gifts their love believer to believer and husband to wife.

Love is diffusive.
Does it take light to see light as “in your light we see light”
Love and light are enlightening. Both love and fire reveal their nature to those who see them. Fire gives off light which reveals something about the fire by it’s light. Love in the heart leads to outward action which to those experiencing the love of God have revealed to them both the knowledge of God and love for loves flame are of YHWH (Song 8:6). Those who experience the love of God know that this Divine Holy Principle didn’t originate in them but from God, who is love.

7 As the flame of love continues in the heart so does the person abide in the Light.
“The one who loves his brother abides in the Light and there is no cause for stumbling in him” 1 John 2:10.
So also love when inflamed leads the hearts of lovers closer to each other by inflaming intense desires to be closer. 1:2,4, 2:14,

“How precious is Your loving kindness, O God!
And the sons of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
8 They are satisfied from the richness of Your house;
And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights.
9 For with You is the fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.
10 Continue Your loving kindness to those who know You,
And Your righteousness to the upright in heart.” Ps. 36:7-10.
When our eyes and heart are being opened in His light, Divine illumination as to what is truly morally excellent is seen. It is a beautiful thing to be in a closer more intimate relationship with the coming Messiah. It is her her desire. Love on her heart for him inflamed that holy and right desire. She not only knew it was right and a morally beautiful thing for her to desire him and affection from him but also for all the other holy virgins to desire to be married to him as well. “How right it is for them to desire you“1:4. Why? Because he was holy and loving plus the young newly anointed co-regent promised king of peace, Solomon, had not chosen a wife yet.
In the light and sense of God’s loving kindness we see our place of True refuge, In the light and sense of his loving kindness we are satisfied, drinking of the river of His delight’s.
The experiential knowledge of the love of God due to union with the coming christ/Christ in love lit up in her heart what was true, dignified, right, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent and worthy of praise.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is dignified, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, consider these things.
Bonds form and heat is diffused as love bonds (is communicated) to the heart joy, delight and happiness are exercised.
Love’s flame awakening her senses at his anointing.

is exceeding great and vigorous; impressing the heart with the strongest and most lively sensation, of inexpressible sweetness , mightily moving, animating, and engaging them, making them like to a flame of fire
