God drawing the Bridegrooms bride closer to Himself by her faith in God and His promises to her in Solomon in love. The Son of God is the Bridegroom. All believers were given to the Bridegroom, the Son of God, before the world began. God is the source of Solomon’s love to God and His people. God is the source of the love in her heart that brings about a vigorous desire for a closer more intimate manifestation of the love of God in Solomon, in marriage Song 1:2-4 with Song 8:6-7. It may not have been revealed to the bride in the Song but it is revealed to us that the Father gave the Son a sinful Bride and Love to the Son to show His love to her by living and dying for her greatest good and happiness.
This is Jesus praying to the Father for the Disciples and by extension all believers. Jesus manifested God the Father’s Name to those whom God the Father gave to God the Son for they were His to give to the Son and in giving them to Him He is their Bridegroom for “He who has the Bride is the Bridegroom”. The Bible talks about a bride of Jesus Christ being the church in some contexts and in other’s it talks about all believers being the Bride of the Son of God. Marriage best illustrates the intimate, close and personal love of God that draws the soul ever closer to God.
“I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.”John 17:6 and “just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him in love” Ephesians 1:4.
When Jesus came John the Baptist knew Jesus had the bride and therefore was the groom. She was his even before he died for her. “‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent ahead of Him.’ He who has the bride is the groom.” John 3:28-29.
God draws her closer to Himself in him/Him. The closer she gets to christ Solomon the closer she gets to God. God communicates love to the heart of christ Solomon which makes him morally beautiful and desirable for to experience the love of God in him is “better than wine“. She feels safe to get closer for seeing his love to God and other’s casts out all fear of harm from him.
God’s love casting out fear. Harmonizing roles. Beautifying the souls.
God communicates knowledge of Himself and love to Himself and love to the Bride of the Son of God Song 1:2. Right, I say Son of God and not Jesus Christ because in the Song of Songs the bride of Solomon knows nothing of Jesus Christ, maybe some veiled and typical knowledge of him/Him but she would not know that God’s intention for marriage was to illustrate the love and oneness of God’s Son Jesus Christ and His Bride. This was a Mystery to her, something not yet revealed. God’s ultimate intention for marriage wasn’t understood until the New Testament era Ephesian 5:25ff.
God draws the soul closer to Himself by making the whole experience of getting closer desirable.
God wants to unify the hearts and lives of both Solomon and Naamah. With ears to hear and eyes to see she beholds the light of the knowledge of God in the face of Solomon which pleases her more than the sweet smell of the best fragrance. The whole experience is “better than wine“.
God draws her closer to Himself in Solomon due to the experience being better. God gives the soul an ability to taste His Special love and grace. Communicates love to the soul. The soul then returns love to God and other’s. This experience makes her want even more at a deeper level because it is a “better” experience “than wine“.
She is sensing union with God and His beloved son.
God drawing the soul closer. God gives the soul a new heart that can sense the love of God. A new taste is given to the new heart. A new ability. Spiritual understanding that a non spiritual mind couldn’t sense or even see for they are “blinded”. She doesn’t have an opening of her physical eyes but her mental understanding is made new, her mind is renewed and can delight in the beauty of the LORD, delight in holiness for love gives the new heart new delights.
