“For…” For the reason or since or because. She is one and acting like it in every way in the their marriage. Her level of maturity would not be possible unless she had a love from God in her heart that had power to unrelentingly bind them.
“Put me like a seal over your heart,
Like a seal on your arm.
For love is as strong as death,
Jealousy is as severe as Sheol;
Its flashes are flashes of fire,
[The very flame of Yah.
7 Many waters cannot quench love,
Nor will rivers overflow it;
If a man were to give all the riches of his house for love,
It would be utterly despised.” Song 8:6-7
If it wasn’t for love she would have nothing. No love. She would have no sweet harmony in the relationship. No love. No truly selfless desires to please him. No love. No jealousy for him. No love, whatever you feelings are and no matter how high they may be, with out love you have nothing of true virtue in your heart and therefore are not truly beautiful! If not truly beautiful then no moral excellency to be morally attractive. No love no attraction then no stricter union causing the soul to die.
When she says “For love is…” She is about to tell us doctrine of what the Bible teaches about love. If she had not love or that love wasn’t… (strong to unite, its jealousy unrelenting or it’s Source not God, then you have a false fire that can be quenched and is worthless). No superlative characteristics of love then she would not have made it to the point where she was selfless in every way. Any old normal feeling of common love can’t get a woman to the strict union she has with God, a holy love and her Messianic King/Husband, Solomon.
If your happiness consists in the union of you and your spouse and you don’t have the holy love of God in your heart then you will forever unbearably sense further and further distance from God and your spouse in hell’s fire forever!
“The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain.”
She is saying to him because she belongs to him, she is his. She was not only postionally his but acting like it always. At engagement they are promised to one another, then in marriage they become more and more one. Sometime after their marriage she has matured enough to be enjoying complete union with him in love therefore, in 8:6 when she can sincerely and delightfully say, “Put me on your heart“, trusting me that you “will have no lack of gain” Prov. 31:11 with me on your heart and arm. Why? She has an unrelenting and vigorously intense power from God in her that won’t stop drawing them/Them even and ever closer Song 8:. It’s not like they have arrived and their love stops, but their love can still growing in greater views of God in Christ.
No love, no union. No union now harmony among parts. No harmony then no “better” sense or ability to have your senses “trained” to discern good from evil. Song 1:2 and Hebrews 5:14.
But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern both good and evil.” No love then no abiding in love.
“Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm for love is…” strong to unite hearts, it’s intense desire is for the the good an happiness of the beloved/Beloved. Loves jealousy is like a flame, a most vehement flame from the LORD. The unrelenting resilient nature of love can’t be quenched and its value is priceless.
Along with love comes selfless desires thus she fully belongs to him because the love in her heart is putting his happiness before hers.
Since love is strong to bond hearts as death has unrelenting power to separate body and soul, and the intense desire of my heart is for you to be happy, my love, Put me on your heart, unite me to yourself, knowing that I am completely yours. If love didn’t have the power or it’s jealousy be strong enough then she would care less about him and live however she wanting apart from him. What she asks of him depends is possible due to the superlative characteristics of love and It’s Source.
The reason for her request is due to the fact that love has power to unite souls. She has a desire for his good and happiness because he is her head and love has united them.
Simple
“I will do whatever pleases you, you can count on me because love is…”
“I am here, all of me, anywhere and to whatever extent because there is a priceless, unrelenting and unquenchable love from God doing it’s work of enlightening, convicting, comforting, delighting, beautifying and sanctifying my heart.”
“I am completely yours. No doubt about it, she fully belonged to him. As a king puts his seal upon his letters because the seal lets everyone know what or who belongs to him.”
His free, priceless and unrelenting love from God kept drawing her closer with an eye to a stricter union and greater manifestations of love.
