He is the godly king and she is the queen.
He is to reflect the character and attributes of the Ultimate King Jesus and she is to reflect the character of a woman beautifully fit to be a bride of Jesus Christ.
Think about it. He is not a king of a country or people group but in the marriage and family the husband is the king. He is to be a Biblically wise, good and loving king similar to Jesus who’s bride (all believers) are happy to obey. Yeah, it is their greatest joy to obey!
Men in this day and age need to grow up!! Be godly, loving and wise kings in their miniature kingdom or home. Take responsibility, be humble. Did I say be humble. Yes, real kings are not prideful, and the position doesn’t go to their heads but they are humble. Having a right view of themselves in relation to God, his wife, his children and others.
A Theocratic Monarchy is what the world system will be when Jesus comes back to rule from Jerusalem for 1,000 years. King of kings, Jesus is God and His reign will clearly be God centered.
Most marriages are people centered and selfish rather than God centered. To be God centered is to have Scripture as your guide.
Every Christian woman would gladly submit to a godly man who is truly wise and guided by the Spirit of God and Scripture.
22 “Wives, subject yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord.” Ephesians 5:22
I mean what wife would not want to do what her Lord Jesus would want. Her Lord Jesus wants her to submit to her own husband. It’s so sad to see so many wives not listening to their husbands that are giving godly wise advise and shepherding the hearts of their wives for they are submitting to God who says for them to submit to their husbands.
Though I do believe there are far more husbands out there not wise or loving thus making it extremely difficult for the wife to freely and happily submit having true sincere forgiveness in her heart.
I mean over 60 percent of professing Christian don’t even believe the Bible is the word of God. No wonder they aren’t wise and truly loving in their marriage.
Application
Dating
Women. Every Christian woman should see some form of wise Biblical leadership in dating for that wise and loving leadership will transfer to the marriage. Any Christian woman dating a man that isn’t using Scripture as his guide ought to run far from that man no matter how much she thinks she loves him. She surely doesn’t love him for being Biblically wise. She surely doesn’t love him for his fear of God.
Men. Be that man that is wise and loving in dating and Marriage by being guided by Scripture. Read your Bible daily. Memorize key verses. Meditate on it often to gain wisdom. Get Godly counsel. Check your life is it similar to that of Jesus? How would Jesus rule your family? Men in Christ Jesus, your wife is the Bride of the Highest Royal King Jesus. She is a Royal Queen of the highest rank. How would you treat her knowing she was a high Queen? Would you call her names? Would you yell at her? Would you hit her? How would you honor her? Know also that you are a queen to King Jesus, so how would you act? You are also a child of a Holy King, therefore you are a royal holy princess? Want to how a royal princess acts then read Solomon’s song of Songs. Read proverbs 31:10-31 to see an excellent wife.
His joy. What great joy he should have. What great delight the husband ought to have to have a God who gave him a Manual/the Word of God as a perfect guide so that he doesn’t lack wisdom. What great joy he should have for God giving him the Holy Spirit of Love so that he could not only wisely lead but also lovingly lead. Solomon’s first wife describes Solomon as having “a head of pure gold“. Song of Solomon 5:11. This means his headship in the family is precious and valuable to her like gold. Men, is your leadership like pure gold to your wife? Single men in dating, is your leadership in dating like pure gold to her?
Degree of Joy in submission. How much more joy should a Christian woman have in submitting to a godly wise husband! How much would you value and treasure your husband who Biblically leads you?
Kings and husbands and fathers. I suppose there are some Arabian kings. And all fathers are little kings. But a king’s job is to love and wisely lead. David prayed for Solomon. Psalm 72 is David’s prayer for young king Solomon as to how he was to lovingly and wisely lead God’s people in His kingdom. He was for God to give him wisdom and His righteousness. To be just and bring about peace. He was to help the needy and crush any oppressor. King Solomon as all fathers should fear God and bring blessing to his family as he lived righteously. All those under him were to lovingly serve his/His purposes. Everyone was to pray for the king or their kingly husband and bless him. And all praise to God.

Confess, believe and repent.
If you are not wise or loving then confess your sins to God. Be specific. Be sincere. Be honest. Tell God your unloving actions and thoughts this is confession.
Believe. Believe you deserve punishment for those sins. Believe Jesus suffered on the cross paying the punishment for you. Believe Jeus lived a perfect life and that that perfect life can be credited to your account. Believe that on that basis you get to go to heaven. Not by any good works that you have done but by His good works credited to your account do you get to go to heaven.
Repent. Now, resolve to live a Biblical life and be a wise and loving king in your dating or marriage. Woman, repent of your pride, selfishness, unforgiveness and unbelief and lovingly submit to your husbands. Yeah, you probably know how to lead better than him, it seems to me that most women godly women do, but still submit where you can.
