Solomon and Naamah lived a true love story!! One of the greatest love stories of the Bible! They were complete opposites to one of the greatest extremes.
For example.
She was a Gentile and he was a Jew.
She was a child of the devil and Christ Solomon was a child of God.
She hated God and he loved God.
She was sinful and he was holy.
She was unrighteous and he was righteous.
She was at enmity with God and Solomon was at peace.
He had true faith in the one True God and she worshipped Baal, a sacrificed offering to God’s enemy.
He had a almighty infinitely intense flame of Love working on and in his heart and she didn’t.
She put herself first and Solomon put God first. She could never have a motive to please God and Solomon would. Both couldn’t have the same heart to please God for her heart was selfish and his wasn’t.
The answer is that God gave her The Flame above all other flames while she heard truth and gained knowledge of God’s coming Messiah, Solomon.
What fellowship does light have with darkness? Rhetorical question for light has no fellowship with darkness. They have no fellowship, meaning no things in common that draw them closer together. They don’t share anything in common one with the other that would unite or blend them or make them more one for light casts out darkness! The two can’t dwell together.
She was darkness, Song 1:5-7 and Solomon was light. She was evil and he was good. Her heart was evil and his was good, therefore there could be no union of hearts while one was at enmity with the other.
Job 30:26 “Yet when I hoped for good, evil came; when I looked for light, then came darkness.”
The miracle of the power of LOVE.
To see the power of love in action!! Delight in it and be transformed into a more loving person!
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.
See love power comparatively.
Comparatively more power. More power than selfish sinful self-love. Only one principle can and will rule or be master of the soul.
Light or love has this power to cast out sinful fear and evil selfishness by having more power comparatively.
What kind of power does it take to cast out selfishness?
Love is strong as death. A love that has equal strength as death!
See the power of death on display or in action in order to know it’s power.
Where do we see the effects of death?
“In the day that you eat of it, dying you will die” Gen. 3 Then Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit and they deserved to fully die spiritually and physically. But God was gracious and they began to partially physically die and they felt spiritual separation from God. Disunion. In their hearts they were now at enmity with God.
In Adam we all died. Original sin.
1 That death is seen in the physical body dying. 2 That death is seen in the soul dying.
How powerful is death to destroy the body?
Death has enough power to kill the body by separating the soul from the body!
When the soul leaves the body, the body is dead. It’s because we are cursed to die whereby death works its power.
Power is known by its effects, watching it in action. How could we describe a power strong enough to separate the soul from the body? I ask this question so that you could think as well. Think about it. Don’t just trust me to come up with all the answers. I don’t know everything, I just love meditating on Scripture, particularly as it relates to Love.
1 It’s power is above any human to stop. Can you stop your soul from leaving your body? No way! By any human means, death is impossible to stop. Death and taxes are unstoppable. “Love is …unquenchable” Song 8:7
Death has a goal and no amount of human strength could stop it. People try. Vitamins, exercise, heart transplants, meditation, various religions. You name it people have tried to cheat physical death. They have all failed but a few in Scripture but that was because of God directly taking Enoch or resurrecting the dead, by putting their soul that was in suspension back into the body thus breathing new life into it.
In the love Song we don’t see anyone defying physical death yet we do see loves superlative power to unite each soul to God and each other. Union comes through faith in YHWH and love to Christ Solomon by which they are credited righteousness.
“Love is strong as death.” Love has the same power as death. As death has power to separate the soul from the body, love has the same power. So, your probably thinking, if love has the same power, then no one win?
Well, yes. But it all depends on who your Master is. Is your Master Jesus Christ? Is your Master God? Who is LORD in your life and heart? If God, then love is there, and God will make light to shine in the darkness and make it to fade away. If Satan is your father, you obey in selfishness and unbelief then death will reign in your body and soul as Satan destroys you.
2 Know death’s power by seeing it harden and destroy the soul. See death’s power to kill the soul. How do we see the soul dying? Further unbelief, further enmity. Hardening in degree of evil. Hardening of the heart in depth of evil.
A. Constancy of evil behavior. Only evil. Always evil. Never a pure and good motive was ever in the heart of an unbeliever.
Never ending power. Death power goes forever! The physical body dies and is gone, yet the soul lives forever either in darkness controlled by death’s power or in light, compelled by love. Death will never lose its grip on the poor sinful soul.
Just like deaths power never ends, neither does love power ever end! Happily ever after in heaven!!
B. Breath of evil. Not only does death work and keep a constant evil motive in the heart but also in every area. If all the time, then everywhere. Nothing a unbeliever who doesn’t love God will ever please God for “no one apart from God who is of the sinful flesh can please God.” (Romans something). The scope of death’s evil influence is in all areas of the heart and life.
“the thought and intents of the heart were only evil continually.” Genesis 6:5.
Love power effects every area of the heart and life!! Not a holy spark here or there. Or one area of life and not another but it effects every area of your life! The scope of loves influence is not confined to only friends but extends to enemies. Loves scope is not limited. The breadth of love is extensive. Reaching to God, neighbor and enemies. Not only in relations but also everywhere.
See loves power to extend itself. Far reaching.
See the height of love power, coming from the highest heavens and powerful enough to reach the highest heavens where God our Father dwells.
God the Father, who is Love, who’s essence and nature is love is the source of all love. The Eternal, self-sufficient Being, who can’t run out of love. Nor can He break any of His promises for He is faithful.
Without loves power always working in every area of her life then our bride could never have reached oneness with her beloved.
Place me like a seal over your heart,
like a seal on your arm;
for love is as strong as death,
its jealousy unyielding as the grave.
It burns like blazing fire,
like a mighty flame.
7 Many waters cannot quench love;
rivers cannot sweep it away.
If one were to give
all the wealth of one’s house for love,
it would be utterly scorned.“
They got tot he point where nothing could separate the two of them, for they were one. She was sealed to his heart and not going anywhere else. There, she was sealed to his arm and a perfect helper. Doing his will all the time and in every area like the arm obeying the mind, she loved and obeyed her beloved husband.
“She was his and his desire was for her” good and happiness always and in every area.

Where you have sinned, tell God about it, confessing it, trust Jesus Christ, God’s son suffered in your place when He bore the punishment for our sins in his body on the cross 2000 years ago. Rose on the 3rd day and will come again to get His Bride, those whom He died for.
