How do you know that God wants you to marry someone?
For the 5 minute read, then read this post. For the 60 minute livestream video that goes a little more in detail to each point then go here Who should I Marry?

Other than choosing Jesus, I believe choosing who you marry is the most important decision of your life! How do you know God wants you to marry someone? God speaks to us through His Word. The answer is in His Word.
These things are like checkmarks before marriage. Many of these are saying the same thing but in a different way.
Marry someone who…
1 Marry someone who God wants you to marry if you are a true Christian. (Do both of you make decisions based on God’s Word, fasting and prayer?)
2 Marry someone who has the same faith. (God, salvation/Jesus, her testimony Song 1:5-6)
3 Marry someone who has as the same love. Song 8:6-7 (strong, ardent, God’s love, unquenchable and free)
4 Marry someone who loves you for who you are and what you are like? (Song 1:3, 1:8, 2:2)
5 Marry someone who has a progressing, proven and praiseworthy Christian character. Song 2:2 (able to make peace with enemies for blessed or holy and happy are the peacemakers for they are children of God) (Love that promotes humility and forgiveness, 1 Cor. 13:4ff)
6 Marry somone who delights in holiness or is sinning less. (Have a growing love of complacency or the same is a growing delight in holiness.) Song 1:3 Marry someone who loves God. Holiness consists in love to God. So if you desire to be closer to someone who delights in holiness then that’s God drawing you closer to him. The devil doesn’t want two believers to be together.
7 Marry someone who is honest and can communicate issues before marriage that may keep the relationship from blossoming. Song 2:13-14 If they can’t communicate issues that are keeping you from moving forward in dating then that’s his or her character. Is that characteristic of a person good for marriage?
8 Marry someone who God is using the difficulties of life to draw the two of you closer? The trials in life ought to bring you together. Song 1:5-6 In one of the greatest trials of her life, the Shulammite makes peace with Jewish women. A born again Gentile made peace with Jews. This is a difficult trial, but true love prevails and overcomes difficulty, thus bringing about a stricter union.
9 Marry someone who has as doves eyes? Song 1:15
10 Marry someone who helps catch the foxes that are ruining the relationship from blossoming. (It is a together thing not his or her fault. What are you both doing about it?) Song 2:14
11 A man should move forward if the women has no fear but is fearless like a mare in battle. Song 1:8
Other tips
1 People are deceptive and gullible. If the man is deceptive or a hypocrite then it is important for the woman to be wise or get wise counsel from God, His Word and someone she trusts so that she won’t be deceived by the man. Also she needs to distinguish between false love and true love. Between infatuation and true love. Between lust and love. Between a crush or passion and love. Heightened emotions are included in love but not all heightened good feeling emotions are love. So not all heightened feelings are love.
2 Most people are their best in dating. So generally, speaking if a behavior doesn’t get better in dating it surely won’t in marriage.
Look in His Word. What made for a close, loving, happy and happier marriage with the type of Jesus Christ in Solomon’s song of songs and his bride? Love.
