Do both of you delight in holiness? If so then both will sin less and less. Do both of you share a delight in the Law of God and the Scriptures evident by your not only reading and hearing but obeying?

When you meet a man, a type of Jesus Christ. A Christian. What is it about him that draws you to him?
1 The most important thing is are they a Christian? A Christian can only marry another Christian. A hypocrite Christian can marry another hypocrite, which happens more than we know. But a Christian should not marry a non Christian, it is forbidden.
2 But how do you know for sure that he is a Christian? Does he love God. Love to God is manifested to us when we see someone obeying all God’s commands Ps. 119 “that I may not be ashamed when I consider all your commands“. Sinning less and less. Motives getting purer and purer. Has someone been in their life that can be trusted that knows him to be a person who repents of sin. If not then date him long enough to see him repenting of something. He isn’t perfect and will sin sometime in the dating process. Does he respond to sin in a better and better Christian manner.
So when dating know that love is strong enough to cast out sin. Love will not stop in this pursuit to mortify sin in the heart. Is there a delight in holiness when dating. Does he set boundaries? Does he keep his promises to show his love and faithfulness? Is he on time? Does he make Biblically informed decisions about his life?

Does he have the love in his heart that is in Solomon’s Song of Songs? Does he have a love as strong as death in his heart. Does he have loves Jealousy that is severe and cruel as the lake of fire in his heart for you. Well Jesus Christ loves him then he will have a similar special love to you. If you see him becoming more and more holy then Jesus is saving him from a life of sin. If he loves your primarily because your holy love draws out and rouses his affections for you. Beautiful on the inside and out and love will freely give its life.
Our Bridegrooms job is to woo us ever closer to Him. He will forever draw us closer. He makes Himself look so beautiful in our minds so that we choose Him above everything else. The spiritual light goes on. The Song calls it a spark, a flame, a flame above all other flames. Special love not common love.
Sanctification is not by works as if your works could stir up love. Becoming more beautiful is by faith.
You have to ask yourself can I see a love as strong as death in his heart? By his words and actions. Love is a feeling that manifests itself in a holy action. Love spark in the mind and heart, and make itself known by bodily actions and words. Solomon knew the Gentile had to of had a special kind of holy love in her heart because of the sincerity of the things she said about him and his love and her desire for him. He knew it was a love as strong as death The purposes of love are to make happy and holier, in effect closer to God. We partake of the Divine Nature.
There is everything to know about Solomon. Yet what we learn about the woman is in time through out the love poem. So he doesn’t know much about her but she knows a lot about him and yet after saying 4 sentences he is treating her as if she was a Jew in her heart.
Love brings us closer to God. An increase of love draws us closer. Getting closer to perfect but practically in life we sin less and less if the love of God dwells in there.
