The bride in the Song desires to be near her beloved, but her beloved is always desiring to be closer more than the bride. How much more so does Christ want us to “Arise” and be near Him and far from sin!! His Jealousy for our affections is greater than we think! His desire for us to be near Him is greater than our desire to be near him. “let them be where I am” John 17:24
With words and actions like
“Let Him kiss me..” Song 1:2
“Draw me away with you” Song 1:4
In desiring to be near Him.
“Tell me you whom my heart loves, where..” Song 1:7
“Take me to the banquet hall” Song 2
He even desires her to be near him/Him
“Arise my darling, my beautiful one and come with me” He even says this twice to put emphasis on the facts in the verse. He has a real strong desire for her to “Arise” and be with him/Him. Song 2:10 and 2:13

We don’t physically see Jesus today but we can get greater and greater revelations of Him as we walk in obedience and faith.
Do you want to see Jesus?
He will reveal Himself in a much more glorious and intimate way than you ever thought possible if you are a believer with the “flame of the LORD” in you.
If you seek Him with all your heart like the bride in Solomon’s Song of Songs.
If you are a believer then you will have greater joy and delight in reading God’s Word than not reading it. You have learned some things about Jesus and you know Him. God sent Jesus to die for His bride. Jesus bore the burden of our sin upon Himself for 3 hours on the cross, when darkness fell, so was the full wrath of God being poured out on Jesus who suffered in your place. And lived a perfect life so that His perfect would be credited to you when God opened your eyes to the truth that Jesus paid it all and you were willing to give your life up to Him and your heart and life now proves it because you are not living in the same habitual pattern of sin like before.
If that is you then you want to see more of Jesus!! You have learned of Him through the Gospel that in it the truths known to you will be treasured. The sinlessness or holiness of Christ, His moral Beauty will be the one thing you desire to behold.
The thing is that each time you have a greater revelation of Christ to your soul the more you will want to see greater revelations of His Love, Mercy, Grace etc. And of who He is and what He has done for you.
By greater revelations of Christ, I mean higher views of Christ. Like you thought Christ was loving but now you have experience it by know He has forgiven you sins. Then you sin the next day and “he who has been forgiven much loves much”. Okay so yesterday and all the days before you knew your sins have been forgiven up to yesterday. Now today you still know all your sins have been forgiven. Also you know Christ has forgiven and paid for all your sins. All past sins and future.
So to know that you have been forgiven much you must think of all your sin.
Past, present and future.
Its the present sins that get accumulated and lets say your conscience has convicted you of 5,000 sins in the past 10 years. The next day you have more sins that you have committed. “He who has been forgiven much loves much.”
Here is where your love grows. Many people want to love Jesus our Beloved more. They pray for it often but don’t spend the time in meditation thinking about their sin and Christ on the cross or the Gospel that is the power of God unto salvation and sanctification. Seeing the glory of God in the face of Christ, therein love grows.
Greater revelations of Christ usually come not so long after repentance. Sweeter communion with Christ in prayer and meditation comes soon after repentance or even sweeter in continued deeper uninterrupted obedience/worship and self-denial.
More sooner than later they often come after sincere desire and longing for Him to be near, closer, more glorious in your thoughts and you have greater desires to behold His Beauty. Generally this desire and longing for God is because you haven’t been feeling Him near or close, it has been to long where it seems as if God has turned His back on you and you want Him to show you His Face.
Desire must increase and then God fulfills this desire.
So how can you increase your desire for God, more of Him, or increase you love joy and delight in Him.
- Study, memorize and meditate on Scripture and obey your conscience.
- Pray for you desire for God, closer intimacy with Him until He give it and keep asking for more. Once it comes you can keep sweet communion with Him so long as you abide in His Love. Sin will separate you from the One your heart loves, but blessed are those who’s ways are blames and live their live according to God’s Word. Praying with faith that God will increase your desire will increase your desire for God.
- There is sweet, abiding, peace and rest when holding holy communion with God in Christ. Here you will be tasting with your soul a piece of heaven. That we may know Him in greater and greater experiences of His love and richness of His Grace. Here we dight in Him and obeying Him. And here when all is good spiritually we will desire even more deeper level of sweeter communion, a holier heart, greater knowledge of God in Christ. Here your desire for Christ will grow and God will fulfill that desire once you have been throughly humbled.
- Do you desire to see Jesus? Where do you find Him who your soul loves? Oh, holy, spotless child of God “Most beautiful of women, Follow the tracks of the sheep and rest your young goats by the tents of the shepherds” In other words the pure in heart will see Jesus, in order to be near and see Him your heart must get purer and purer, so “Follow the tracks of the sheep” What have other more mature believers done to be near Him? Follow them. If no one to follow then follow the bride in the Song. Put yourself in her shoes and let Solomon lead you closer. Solomon was unmeasurably wise and lead his wife closer to both God and Himself with God’s wisdom and love. Either have and keep your heart pure or purify your heart and cleanse your hands you sinner in the blood of Christ, now!
